It seems like this winter lasted for years. It was less cold than rainy, I spent days and days having to dodge inconvenient rains (in the face of basic urban and social needs, such as taking the daughter to school and solving day-to-day bureaucracies in the city center). It seems to me that the older I get, the less I like the cold as something contemplative and positive. It seems that the seclusion and withdrawal that it causes doesn't appeal to me anymore, and more directly, I can say that this kind of climate limits my desire to touch the earth, to experience nature, to hike, to experience the world, and I think it's like that for most people. It's at these times that I'm thankful I was born in Brazil and not in Iceland (as I have wanted very, very much), the fact of seeing the climate changing little by little to a land turn of more heat and muffling, of this "fertile greenhouse" feeling is quite pleasant. Seeing the little plants in a struggle for their journey of flowering and procreation, the green shoots spreading all over, is very beautiful. My yard is asking to be taken care of again, and overall the winter has not killed many of the plants I had. Others will need to be sown and grown from scratch, which is also a very pleasant and laborious process that I enjoy very much. Although the spring equinox has already happened, I am still here typing this on a cold and rainy day, but I know that little by little it will get away and we will be able to go back to the pleasures of nature hikes, waterfalls, planting vegetables and spices, entheogenic and herbal plants, spices, and luxuriant flowers. I hope to soon share with you a little of my process of this new hot weather, and many things are already in planning, such as: recovering and arranging my compost bin, spreading more earthworms in this dense and clayey soil, planting vegetables and fruits, taking care of the passion fruit tree that is in full bloom, looking for cubensis in the region's pastures, collecting some species of plants from nature to grow at home, and so on! And finally I leave some photos from the warm seasons of the past year, because this is what I can show for now, given that outside the gray sky and the humidity still devour the world. Parece que esse inverno durou anos. Foi menos frio do que chuvoso, passei dias e dias tendo que me esquivar de chuvas inconvenientes (diante das necessidades urbanas e sociais básicas, como levar a filha pra escola e ir resolver burocracias do dia a dia no centro da cidade). Me parece que quanto mais velho fico, menos gosto do frio como algo contemplativo e positivo. Parece que o recolhimento e o retraimento que ele causa não me agrada mais e de forma mais direta, eu posso dizer que esse tipo de clima limita meu desejo de tocar a terra, de vivenciar a natureza, de fazer trilha, de experimentar o mundo, e acho que é assim para a maioria. É nessas horas que agradeço por ter nascido no Brasil e não na Islândia (como já quis muito, muito), o fato de ver o clima mudando pouco a pouco para uma virada terrestre de mais calor e abafamento, dessa sensação de "estufa fértil" é bastante agradável. Ver as plantinhas numa luta pela sua jornada de florescência e procriação, os brotos verdes espalhando-se por tudo, é muito belo. Meu quintal está pedindo para ser cuidado novamente, e de forma geral o inverno não matou muitas das plantas que eu tinha. Outras, precisarão ser semeadas e cultivadas do zero, o que é também um processo bastante agradável e laborioso do qual eu aprecio por demais. Apesar de que o equinócio de primavera já aconteceu, ainda estou aqui digitando isso em um dia frio e chuvoso, mas que sei que pouco a pouco se distanciará e poderemos voltar aos prazeres da trilha na natureza, das cachoeiras, dos plantios de verduras e temperos, de plantas enteógenas e de fitoterápicos, de especiarias e flores viçosas. Espero em breve compartilhar com vocês um pouco do meu processo desse novo tempo quente, e muita coisa já está em planejamento, como: Recuperar e arrumar minha composteira, espalhar mais minhocas nessa terra tão densa e argilosa, plantar verduras e frutas, cuidar do maracujazeiro que está em plena ascensão, procurar cubensis pelos pastos da região, coletar algumas espécies de plantas da natureza para cultivar em casa, e assim por diante! E por fim deixo algumas fotos das temporadas quentes do ano passado, porque é o que posso mostrar por hora, dado que lá fora o céu cinza e a umidade ainda devoram o mundo. Obrigado pela sua leitura!
