Just incase this is your first time visiting my blog I recently started making slippers and sandals and that's primarily what this post is about, feel free to check my previous posts and see some of my work
Okay, so I realized in my last post I couldnt really tell you all about how I came up with the idea of the slippers I made or else it would be soo long. So, In other to avoid that for my next post I decided to make this blog so I could tell you how I came up with the idea for my next work ( a pair of sandals) so expect more of this kind of blogs as time passes
So a few days back my boss told me my next task would be to make a pair of sandals for anyone of my choice. The first thing that came to mind was "who was I going to make it for?" would it be my dad? One of my cousins? Or even my uncle? Who I'm quite close to, because I normally don't like sandals. Then the next thing that came to mind was "What design?" I hadn't answered the previous question but I went to the internet to find possible sandals designs I scrolled and scrolled looking for what to create but I couldn't find anything, not because they weren't beautiful designs there but because there wasn't anything unique, majority of the sandals were quite similar and actually quite easy to make. After a lot of meaningless scrolling I decided to take a break.
Before I knew it two days had passed and I was yet to think of anything. So I simply picked some random simple sandals.
Its quite beautiful but It wasn't tasking enough. Before going to work that day I noticed the sandals one of my cousins was wearing and it was quite nice
I asked him the name of the sandals, he said they were called gladiator sandals. I kept that in mind not wanting to make exactly what he was wearing, immediately I got to work I Googled "gladiator sandals" I saw so many Peculiar and unique designs but once I saw this one I knew i had to make it
I liked the overall design and style of the sandals and the fact that it had a lot of straps means it would be somewhat difficult to create . At this juncture I decided to make it for myself. I'm sure now you're probably saying "I thought he doesn't like sandals" well I normally don't, but I seem to like this one a lot so why not. I'll probably make the next one for one of them.
So, at this exact point in time I have only created the pattern for the sandals on paper but hopefully by Monday evening or Tuesday I should have completed it and I'll post the full process for you all to see. I wish you all a great day or night lots of love, goodbye.
