As happened with the previous situation, first container prices went to the sky and then there were no containers.
Today the value of a container to send merchandise is around two to 3000 per container when at the time of the previous crisis when the economies were reopened and there was tremendous demand it reached more than 10,000 per 40-foot container. It is more or less 12 m meters.
There is always a trend that always has pretexts to raise prices, but when the situation is regulated again and normalized, that is, the costs of raw materials or oil or containers or whatever, perhaps the Companies that charge you to move something from one side of the planet to the other also adjust their prices or simply leave them at the same level that they had raised even though at this moment they no longer have such high costs, that is an interesting question but I see That this happens in both areas that prices simply go up but then they do not go down.
In the canals, it can be roughly said that in the Panama Canal they explain that because there is very little rain, this year the system in which the canal operates requires the use of drinking water in large quantities of lake water, at this time Those lakes do not have enough water, which is why they have had to greatly reduce the number of ships that can pass through each day, then in the Suez Canal, which is another very important canal, I can give you data, for example the Panama Canal through this canal. passes 6% of all world trade.
While in the Suez Canal it is 12%, so between the two of us we have almost 20% of all world trade, the problem in the Suez Canal is having problems at the security level, in the Red Sea the companies that are The owners of all these ships complain that they are attacked by ships that may be pirates or for different reasons, in general it is to steal of course, which is why there are already very important companies that are directing their ships to go all the way around from Africa, greatly lengthening the distance and consequently the consumption of oil and the time; these two things would greatly increase the cost per container.
I ask, with so much artificial intelligence with so much high technology, it does not have the capacity to identify an unidentified ship in those important seas, knowing that 12% of world trade passes through that Suez Canal, how can it be that today in the 21st century a pirate ship can arrive and attack, disturbing a commercial ship.
