Recently @theycallmedan asked this question in his post : Does Hive Need Anything Else To Succeed?. I replied in a comment, but I think that's not enough. That's why I will reply in a post.
So, hive is great. From no fees, to fast transactions, to communities and tribes and applications built on it. All that worth to be invested in. We have real people who are working everyday to make the blockchain really exceptional.
But, I think we still need some improvement.
Marketing :
We are already working hard to promote hive. You may check what @nathanmars is doing in twitter or this campaign created to promote it in facebook : FIRST AD CAMPAIGN RESULTS! / Marketing Update 8 and maybe there are others I don't know about. But, I feel that we need more existence in all social media. Including youtube, tiktok and others. Even instagram is good for that. I don't know if such thing exist, but I think it will be cool to organize members and give each group a direction to work in. For example some will be respensable to promote hive in forums and that will be their main task. Others through pictures, others through videos. Etc ... . We have all kinds of people here. Even musicians who can sing about hive and poets who can write about it.
We may find even volunteers from all the blockchain to participate in that. Each one will do his/her part and that should be continuous and never ending. No matter what will happen. The results of such work should be always in the trending page. So, every group will be motivated to be trending everyday and more and more members will join the fun. That will be really huge.
Motivation :
The motivation I already talked about. I mean being in the trending page. But, we should have an other group that will meet the newcomers and help them to take the direction they want in hive. Tell them about rules, ethics, etc ... . Such group should be also trending. I mean everyday we should see a trending post of those who are onboarding and helping others to understand how the community work. Sometimes those who join may also help the onboarding team and even their content maybe trending.
As I wrote in the comment. We already have people excited about the blockchain. So, there should be a group to find them as well and to make them trending sometimes. At least once a month or something. That will make them more excited about the platform. That will make them attract more people. So, our mission shouldn't be to reach to investors directly. But through the masses they will automatically join. You may take a look at the success of youtube when it just started and tiktok for example. During a long time people where just sharing videos. People weren't paid that much, but they were motivated to record more and to create quality content after. The quantity create the competition and that will lead to quality. After such huge number of creators, the compitition will be among investors.
Collaborations :
During all this time many collaborations should be created. It's a kind of the link we need with other crypto communities. We may motivate our members to create collaborations together, for example to write collective posts, or create videos together or even podcasts. Then we support those collaborations to make others create more. Then we choose the most active collaborators to start attracting people from other crypto websites and even any other business.
We may reach even CEOs of companies. Workers in famous companies. Even famous actors and famous journalists, why not. Maybe even politicians. The more the masses hear about us, the more people will join, the more investors will put their money, .... etc.
Imagine how hive will grow after that !
Marketing is probably the biggest one. Both organic sharing of posts that we already make on Hive as well as the more strategic partnerships, collaborations, article placements in big publications.
The Hive community is also an insular one. Unlike other cryptos which have a presence on external platforms like Reddit or Twitter, for Hive, the only way you hear of it is if you're already in the community.
I like what Nathanmars has been doing and respect his consistency since he came on board. I believe of all this the most important is marketing once we came to the realization that they won't simply come just because we've built a revolutionary platform.
