Yesterday, we took a river canoeing trip with a group of friends. In Texas, the weather had been so hot that we did not know if we even wanted to go canoeing but they had flown in from Michigan specifically to go canoeing.
This was their 25th year to go canoeing in a different state. Each year they go to a different state and go canoeing for the day. This is the first year that we joined them.
It has not rained around here in a long time so the water is low and several of the trees are sticking up from the bottom of the river. We started early in the morning before it heated up. The temperature was going to be over 100F later today.
We saw several birds along the way and a few snakes, turtles and fish as well.
One time a bird flew ahead of us for a little way up the river. It was a very relaxing trip and one that provided a much needed break from my routine.

Looks like you had a really great time, the pictures can attest to that. I have never travelled by water and I sometimes wonder how it feels, I might not even like it
