❤️❤️❤️ As we have been collecting the incoming donations for the school fees, which have to be paid again next month, there is not much new to tell.
This year we are paying for a total of 12 children.
That is really a lot, including the 5 children in Year 7 who are taking their exams at primary school this year and who would have finished school without our help.
Everything has also become more expensive in Uganda.
This is a big problem for the poor families.
There is more starvation again...
When the children go to school, they get food and that in turn relieves the families.
Emmanuel is doing well under the circumstances.
We continue to provide him with medication and food.
His daughter Caroline is currently in hospital.
She is a single parent and has two children.
School fees are also being paid for these two children and we will see
how much the medication and hospital stay will cost.
We will probably cover that because she has no money,
to pay for that.
Caroline has been toying with the idea of going to Saudi Arabia for months,
to work there as a housemaid, as she sees no prospects for herself in Uganda
and wants to offer her two boys a better life.
In Saudi Arabia, workers are usually stripped of their passports.
They often live there like slaves, experience violence, women are sometimes raped
and some are even killed and disappear.
They have absolutely no rights there and I have been telling Caroline for months,
that she shouldn't get involved under any circumstances.
So far she has listened to me....
Then there are the two children who live alone (the girl who was raped by her father and her brother) and they go to school. They are also doing quite well.
We pay their school fees.
As you can see, there are many problems in Uganda.
As always, we do what we can, but it's not always easy...
❤️❤️❤️ Da wir seit Wochen die eingehenden Spendengelder für das Schulgeld, welches nächsten Monat wieder bezahlt werden muß, sammeln, gibt es nicht viel Neues zu erzählen.
Dieses Jahr zahlen wir insgesamt für 12 Kinder.
Das sind wirklich viele, darunter die 5 Kinder der 7.Klasse, die dieses Jahr ihr Examen in der Primary-School machen und die ohne unsere Hilfe ohne Abschluß die Schule beendet hätten.
Auch in Uganda ist alles teuerer geworden.
Das ist ein großes Problem für die armen Familien.
Es wird wieder mehr gehungert...
Wenn die Kinder in die Schule gehen, bekommen sie dort Essen und das wiederum entlastet auch die Familien.
Emmanuel geht es den Umständen entsprechend gut.
Er wird weiterhin von uns mit Medikamenten und Lebensmitteln versorgt.
Seine Tochter Caroline liegt momentan im Krankenhaus.
Sie ist alleinerziehend und hat zwei Kinder.
Auch für diese beiden Kinder wird Schulgeld bezahlt und wir schauen mal,
wie hoch die Kosten für die Medikamente und den Krankenhausaufenthalt sind.
Wahrscheinlich werden wir das übernehmen, denn sie hat kein Geld,
das zu bezahlen.
Seit Monaten spielt Caroline mit dem Gedanken nach Saudi-Arabien zu gehen,
um dort als Hausmädchen zu arbeiten, da sie in Uganda keine Perspektive für sich sieht
und ihren zwei Jungs ein besseres Leben bieten möchte.
In Saudi-Arabien werden den Arbeitern meistens die Pässe abgenommen.
Sie leben dort oft wie Sklaven, erfahren Gewalt, Frauen werden teilweise vergewaltigt
und manche werden auch getötet und verschwinden.
Sie haben dort absolut keine Rechte und seit Monaten sage ich Caroline,
dass sie auf gar keinen Fall darauf einlassen soll.
Bis jetzt hört sie auf mich....
Dann sind da noch die beiden Kinder, die alleine leben (das von ihrem Vater vergewaltigte Mädchen und ihr Bruder).Sie gehen zur Schule. Auch ihnen geht es ganz gut.
Für die beiden zahlen wir das Schulgeld.
Ihr seht, es gibt viele Probleme in Uganda.
Wie immer tun wir, was wir können, aber es ist nicht immer einfach...
