Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah Legacies

in Proof of Brain3 years ago

According to BBC listeners in the start of this millennium, Kwame Nkrumah is the greatest Pan-African ever to live beating the likes of Nelson Mandela and others. 21st September marks the dawn of a new era where his birth marks the rise and the clarion call for self determination and emancipation of the Blackman. Long before the arrival of Nkrumah, others had led the struggle for self-determination and indeed written their names in gold when it comes the struggle.

The works started by The Fante Confederation and the Aborigines Right Protection Society (ARPS) etc. played a pivotal role in calling for self-rule. As Nkrumah was declaring Positive Action, Nii kwabena Bonney was leading a revolt against colonial rule. The struggle and quest for independence was a concerted efforts by all Gold Coasters including ordinary market women.

However, when the fight got fiercer, some people abandon it and to some extent, fought against it. As a true revolutionary, he was accuse by the UGCC matemeho faction of instigating rebellion in the colony and was imprison and stood foe election while in prison. The greatest Pan-African moved the motion of destiny that Gives Ghana the right to self-rule. Ironically those who even started the struggle before Nkrumah are those who opposed the motion of destiny in Parliament. Yes the reason that made Nkrumah the sole founder of Ghana is that, most of people fall-out as the journey gets tougher to the extent that they send a delegation to the UK Parliament to argue that independence should not be granted to Ghana.

Any attempt to erase the name of Osagyfo Kwame Nkrumah from our history books in Ghana would proved futile. The light Kwame lit still illuminates.
