I've heard that some people have allergic reactions to implants. I saw a video of a person who became allergic to their wedding ring after a titanium dental implant. Apparently titanium implants release ions which can trigger hypersensitivity to metals.
The patient claimed to have reactions to different metal things until they had the implants removed.
