Technology can be tricky if not used in the right way for the right reason, I think this is down to abuse, hence the need for decentralized platforms and privacy, I remember watching star trek as a kid, where they would pull out their devices which now resembled old Motorola flip phones and say beam me up Scotty, Today our devices have become much more advanced, addictive and completely invade our privacy.
You are right though it is our choice to use them responsibly and only when needed.
