This is the first post I have read on hive for a long time. It is the most inspiring post I ever seen here only surpassed by a post made by Ned Scott regarding the opportunity for Steemit to be used for the purpose of creating wider more meaningful social change by rewarding people for reporting on their real-world social change work. When I first encountered Steemit I saw the potential immediately, even before Ned’s post.
It is my opinion that the oligarchy of Hive have no interest beyond their own self-interest. If that is indeed the case, the only way that will change, is if their own personal self-interests are threatened in some meaningful way.
Perhaps if they were to consent to changing the witness selection to one person one vote we could turn things around.
This kind of platform has so much more potential than just content creation
