The Dark Age of the Universe.

US Department of Energy BrookHaven National Laboratory scientists have proposed placing a radio telescope on the far side of the moon in order to explore the Dark Ages of the universe.

The Dark Age is a primitive era in the history of the Cosmos, that dark age begins about 380,000 years after the Big Bang, a time when neither stars nor planets existed yet, it is a point that scientists have never been able to observe, although if astronomers could detect radio waves from the Dark Ages, what is known as the Dark Age signal they could uncover the answers to some of the biggest mysteries of the universe such as the nature of dark energy or the formation of the universe itself.

Trying to listen to these signals is not possible from the ground due to the numerous interferences that exist and that humans use radio signals massively for our communications.

Where could we install a radio telescope to capture cosmic signals without suffering interference from the earth; Well, the ideal place would be the hidden side of the moon.

The moon is tidally locked, which means that the moon rotates around its own axis with the same speed that it rotates around the earth, this means that one hemisphere of the moon is always facing the earth, while another always remains hidden and this is what is interesting because the one that is hidden is safe from radio interference of terrestrial origin.
