I remember vividly back in the days when I use to spend hours chatting on Facebook, WhatsApp and telegram without anything to show for it. Social media back then was only for fun and connecting with our loved ones and friends who are very far away from us. The coming of the blockchain brought VALUE to time spent on social media platforms built on it.
People saw something different from the traditional social media like Facebook and Telegram, and as such embraced it with an open arms. Their time on the blockchain related social media is compensated with rewards.
Gaming moves from the traditional play to win virtual rewards to play to win digital Currencies and assets like NFT. Gamers from different part of the world are thus able to play along with other gamers from other countries of the world.
Content creators were presented with different avenue to make money from their resources,and information is thus made available to everyone on the open blockchain.
Presently the movie industry are utilizing the blockchain to grow their wealth
I barely spend time on Facebook ever since I got to know of platforms like Hive , Steemit , Read.cash and noise.cash. Here, we are not only focussing on the money derived from using these platforms but also we learn a lot of things from these platform.
Sadly there are still people out there who still spend time on traditional social media, they find it difficult to believe in what they can gain from the social media platform built on blockchain. It is thus a thing we should be grateful for, and we should work towards promoting these platforms to our friends and relative who are ignorant of it.
