Domain Name System Failures
The proofofbrain.org domain name which had been setup no longer works. I've tried to get my registrar to fix what the problem was. They have some kind of broken "verification system". I'd rather find one that never verifies email addresses, and is reliable. While I am working on that, use https://proofofbrain.steemfiles.com or add the following entries into your /etc/hosts file:
185.130.45.125 ecency.steemfiles.com
185.130.45.125 www.proofofbrain.org proofofbrain.org
On Windows this file is located at c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.
Image Uploads Finally Working
I'm pleased to mention that mage uploads work now. Image hosting is provided by @ecency.
TestNet Support
You guys wont see it, but I have added testnet support. This is so I can simulate things before using real Hive/HBD on things.
Converting Hive to Dollars Hardfork 25 Feature
After experimenting with converting Hive into HBD, I found it gave me way too little HBD for a Hive. In my test I converted 1 HBD into 0.1 HBD. There is no market where your Hive is valued so low. This means you should not use this method.
I have decided it is better to disable the conversion of Hive to Dollars. While the Hive Dollar has a value close to the U.S. Dollar, this feature provides no benefit to the user anyway. Should the Hive Dollar become very high, I think there will be a use case again. I'm going to set things up so it estimates the amount of dollars you will get so at least there are no surprises.
I took the latest USD/BTC price and mulitplied it by the latest HBD/BTC price from BitTrex and got:
HBD price: $0.994,180,32
Hive has a Stablecoin that works now
We finally have a working stable coin.

Should you feel that POB is too high in price, then you can sell POB and then remove from the Hive Engine and buy some stable coin without going outside of Hive Engine and the Hive Blockchain pair.
Should POB be too low in price, you can take your HBD and then buy POB. For myself, we are in the bear market now. It's a good time to obtain cryptos other than HBD.

Would a direct POB / HBD conversion technically possible? A conversion system similar to the one present for HIVE / HBD
Define "conversion". Are you talking about trading or are you talking about destroying POB and getting HBD for it?
I am referring to the implementation of a direct key in your wall or to convert HIVE / HBD to POB and vice versa, a system already present for HIVE / HBD
I am pleased to hear this part of the upgrade. I have always had to first upload pictures on peakd.com, copy the link, and paste it on POB frontend before it will reflect
Now, I do not have to do that anymore. Thanks for the upgrade, sir
I hope that you will be able to sort out the issues with the domain name , soon
Great exposition here for us especially to me that is still trying to understand everything about the hf 25.
I find this post really helpful especially about the conversion of Hive to Hive dollar, I've tried it before but now I know better what I should know about it.
It's indeed the bear market now, I plan to buy more coins before the day we're all waiting for comes.
Thanks for this post sir
It's awesome flexibility for me, I do believe that when there's much options as this it makes it possible to explore ones chances with hive engine, HBD itself and hive.
Many thanks for your tireless work and talent. You keep trying and follow another path if necessary. Hope you do well
Nice concept especially the TestNet support tbis will really go a long way. I could remeber our last discussion @leprechuan when you advised me not to change 1HBD to 0.1HBD and now you are giving the advice generally. I really love this.
Lastly i want to say a big kudos for the advice on buying and selling of pob with respect to changes in price.
For now i can see rhat the price of pob is low compare to when i first join the community when pob was at the rate of $0.7 and i think it is more adviceable to buy now because i still strongly believe that the price can shoot up.
Thanks for the post and wise advice
Though will try to login but i still want to know if our data will still be available here.

The beauty of sites that use the Hive blockchain as the backend is that if you post on any Hive blockchain site, it will be available on other sites. Nothing gets saved in the server at https://proofofbrain.steemfiles.com apart from debugging messages that get logged. The post data including the text and formatting goes into the Hive blockchain. The images and videos remain hosted where-ever they are hosted, Should Peakd or Ecency go down some day we would lose access to many photos. Videos that are just link to YouTube often disappear.
Yes I have successfully login to the site though I haven't seen my posts which I have posted on proofofbrain but I can see that it more easier to post as I have already done a quick review of what is available in the site already.
Knew something was wrong with the site as it didn't go through yesterday when I tried to sign in. Great to know the image problem has been fixed.
Nice to see also HBD pretty stable after the hard fork and great advise with maximizing the use of the stable coin when POB price fluctuates.
My true friend that you are a magician and a great programmer, I think you have a great talent at this.
Wow this is nice, great features from HF25 to bring us a better platform to form of on.
It was yesterday afternoon I had a little issue getting sign in into my own account but it was later successful two hours later, I couldn't tell what the issue at that period.
I'm so happy to know Hive have a stable coming now and HBD price is cool, I have hope it will turn up soon.
This is cool, the features is really amazing having to perform all transaction with turning to another site.
Exactly what I had been saying in some posts of mine.
stable HBD will help a lot!
Thanks for getting this up and running, having a fully working pob front end is one of the two big things I'm hanging out for.
The other is a system to stop whales downvoting content. If pob can do both I will fully switch from hive to pob on all my accounts.
I just noticed that the front-end requires the active key to login.
I also see that ecency requires that too. Neither PeakD.com nor proofofbrain.io require the active key.
Can you explain why ecency (and, by extension, Blue Brain) needs the active key?
