Since I lived in several countries in my life there are many places I call home.
There are 3 major hubs where I feel home. First of all Vienna the city I live in. Second is Nyúl a small village in Hungary just about an hour and twenty minutes from Vienna. If you translate it to english it means Rabbit. My parents still live here and we try to visit as often as possible.
And then Munich where I was born. In all of these places I have a different kind of feeling at home.
Vienna of course is now my main hub. The city is vibrant and has a diverse culture and so many things to see. And if you want to flee to the woods you can do that with hopping on a bus in the middle of the city and get out on top of a whineberg and have a nice walk back to the city and all that in a matter of 1,5 hours maybe two. If you want to climb rocks you can be at the countryside with the train in 45 minutes and climb on the house mountains of the city. I very much enjoy the infrastructure that is just amazing. My fiancé owns a car but for most of the time it is not in use. Thats because we can just hop onto a bus or a tram or a metroline within minutes and be anywhere in the city without travelling longer than 45 minutes. Vienna is a very bike friendly city. There is bike lanes almost everywhere and you can use most of the one way roads in both directions. I need 17 minutes to be at the heart of the city or 20 to be on the Danube island called Donauinsel where you can actually swim in the Danube. Check out @manncpt posts about the Hive Vienna meetups. The hive community is alive in this city.

I visited Vienna about 5 years ago with my family. It is a very beautiful town and we actually visited the Donausinsel. I remember there was a place where you could have a drink and kids could play in the sand. The whole restaurant was on sand. My kids loved it :-).
Thanks a lot for sharing!

I live in Indonesia as you can see on my youtube channel (link in my profile). There are some Japanese events that I joined, recorded, and uploaded there. It was fun.
What I can say about my home? As I'm living for some years in Indonesia, A home is a place where you're safe and free to do anything you want. When I talk about home, I'm a nomad for sure ><
What is nice there? FOOD! Glorious food~ music insert ROFL ><
Yeah, live in Indonesia makes me can taste so many flavors of foods. Spices are number one. Here, sometimes street foods are better than foods in restaurants for some reason. Hygiene? Just choose a place where the owner keeps clean of his/her stall.
Recommendation food if you come to Indonesia:
Have a nice day~
Thanks a lot for sharing! Nice to see you take part in our challenge!

I have lived in many places throughout my life but for the last several years now I have lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the United States. This is a very popular area that is just up the road from Miami, the whole area is a winter time very popular vacation spot for people to escape the cold. The tropical weather, beaches and tons of palm trees are a major attraction that brings people from all over the World. With awesome salt water and fresh water fishing, air boat rides and swamp tours to see the alligators, with lots of activities for all ages and what ever type of night life you are looking for this is a fun place to be. I know the city life isn't for everyone but I like it here and plan on if not staying here permanent at least making it a home base to always come back to when I travel out and about exploring other areas around the Country and World.
You live in a very touristic place. Even I have heard about Fort Lauderdale and I live on the other side of the pond LOL.
Thanks a lot for sharing!

Nothing special from me. 😎
I live with my family in a small rural town, Ilirska Bistrica, Slovenia, close to the Croatian border. It's nothing special, a sleepy village.
What I find good is that there is a lot of greenery, untouched nature, 15 minutes by car I am in the mountains, and in the afternoon I am on the Adriatic coast in 20 minutes and I can go swimming. 😎

Looks like you have everything in reach, mountains, see, nature :-). Hope it's not too far to go shopping ;-)
Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, I have everything near. Shops also :)

I live in Alabama in the South Eastern part of the United States. The state itself is vary pretty. There are lots of mountains, and rivers running through the Northern part of the state, and nice white sand beaches in the South. The weather is relatively nice here. It gets hot enough to go swimming in the summer, but as long as the humidity is low it is not so hot that it’s miserable outside. We also get some snow occasionally in the winter, but only a few inches. The people here are nice for the most part, though a lot of them do fit the American stereotype you see in memes lol.
Can I deduct from this that you are not a big fan of the amercian stereotype ;-)?
Thanks a lot for sharing!
Lol. No not really. I've always been a bit of a nerd, so fishing, hunting, American football, and shooting guns isn't really my thing.
LOL, nice to hear that not all americans like these activities ;-)

I live and grew up in Chicago! It's nice to live near a lake where we might take a dip on hot days. The weather is (usually) predictable. My home itself is actually on the outskirts of the city, in a part that very few actually even know about! Apparently, my city has some of the best food in the country including Chicago-style pizza and hotdogs! I like living here. Even though I live at the edge of the city, my location is pretty central to many attractions.
Sometimes it's better to live at the edge of a city than in it's full center. You have the calme and peace and still all the infrastructure, whereas in the center you have other problems like noise, traffic and maybe also security issues.
Thanks a lot for sharing!
Ah, yes you do make some good points. I wouldn't want to live any closer.

I live a few miles outside of a small town, population of 6,000 in Central Texas USA called the Highland Lakes Hill country. The area has seven lakes and lots of vineyards with rolling hills. It is about an hour and a half's drive to both Austin and San Antonio. Big cities if there is a need for major shopping. I like the peace of living out in the countryside.
Thanks a lot for sharing! Sounds like a very nice place to be :-)

There is a good-sized University here. I live at the edge of campus. They seem to own about 1/2 the town. The local hospital monopoly owns the rest.
Nice so you are surrounded by nurses and students. Must be interesting :-)

I live in the interior of Brazil in a city called Marataízes. I've lived in several places, including Rio de Janeiro. But the desire to return to a more peaceful life was greater, the interior has less traffic, violence, lower cost of living...
Where I live there are beautiful beaches, lots of nature and animals. Near the beach.

I can totally understand that living in a smaller place has it's advantages. When there were the olympic games in Rio, I watched some documentaries about the town and it seemd quite hectic :-)
Thanks for your answer!
