Diversification is important, and it comes in many forms:
- Income -- the main job, plus a side hustle, plus savings, plus investments
- Investments -- cryptocurrency, precious metals, liquid assets, illiquid property, cold hard cash
- Education -- the basics, skills for a passion, skills for a trade, skills for a professional job
- Gardening -- foods, medicine, trade, fuel, pest control
As impotant as diversification is, it needs to make sense for your situation. If something dosn't strengthen a weakness, it doesn't make sense to add it to the portfolio.
