A Call to Action

POB aims to have the fairest token distribution possible. @proofofbrainio is the only account that currently has any stake so it will decide what posts receive the first distributions of POB. Replies to the whitepaper and any posts have already been upvoted.

In an effort to be as fair as possible, some criteria must be set to give everyone an equal opportunity to earn POB in the initial distributions.

The goal with proofofbrain.io is to have interesting, engaging content that people enjoy interacting with. As a human, what I find interesting is subjective, but I will make an effort to be as objective as possible.

Your original content could be anything from creative expression to technical analysis or anything in between.

Here are some topics that seem like obvious choices to my mind, but by no means are you limited to these:
Crypto – Bitcoin, Blockchain, Hive, Hive-Engine, Tribaldex, Tribes, PoW, PoB, POB
Life – Stories, TIL, Ideas, Projects, Hobbies, Travel
Memes
Business
Science
Nature
Culture
Current Events/News
History
Future
Spiritual/Religious

The goal is to have original, engaging content. So, prove you have that big ole’ brain, post something interesting!

I read about this new tribe yesterday in @trumpman's post.. Pretty cool! Used the tag for the first time today, and will create a shout out later this week to make people aware of the existence :)

Well, I make delicious food, so I hope that will engage some brains.

Interesting project. Best of luck to you! I will use #proofofbrain tag on my new posts.

Awesome! What are the activator tags? I am assuming POB and proofofbrain?

just proofofbrain

Awesome! Thanks for the reply!

I voted you for zero :)

I would like to proffer a suggestion. However, it might require too much development time to be put into place quickly.

For these initial days (and weeks, perhaps), it might be best if the @proofofbrainio account consistently awarded its upvotes via an auto-voting bot that uses the following (or similar) protocol:

  • Vote on posts toward the end of the voting period, to allow for maximum interaction by curators first.
  • Target those posts that have received the most manual votes, providing a higher vote percentage to those posts that received the most individual curation votes.

In actuality, it might be best to have an 'auto vote-recommendation' bot that applies the above (or similar) rules, then recommends which posts the @proofofbrainio account should vote on and a recommended vote percentage (but requires the real person overseeing @proofofbrainio to 'okay' each vote). This would enable the @proofofbrainio account holder to distribute POB tokens (during the early days) in a manner that best reflects the wishes of the curators, but provides a human check against any competing 'bots' that might try to game this particular setup.

Of course, this could all be done quietly (behind the scenes) without any formal announcement or acknowledgement, to make it more difficult for folks to 'game' the system (it's much harder to game a system when you don't know the underlying data-generating process upon which the system is operating).

I appreciate the suggestions, but in my mind, human subjectivity is just part of the equation and I don't necessarily want to get rid of it. I am voting on anything that I think anyone could find interesting at all to limit my subjectivity, but I am basically going to vote the same way I think would be good for the platform to vote when more people have stake. I think PoB works best when people are voting for stuff that they like, just because they like it.

Yes, I fully understand that. No way is going to be perfect. It's going to take up a lot of your time these first few days and weeks, though!

Totally cool concept!

Yeah, I'm definitely going to take some kind of a break after the first payouts.

"Fair" doesn't seem the right word for the distribution to me. Since you are deciding, which post / comment to upvote, the initial distribution is far from "fair", but rather a very subjective choice, which you are making.

I do trust in you to do your best for having a broad initial distribution - I just wanted to give the choice of your word for the distribution a thought :)

How is it far from fair? How would you describe it? What would you do to make it better?

"Far" was maybe a bit exaggerated. I just wanted to say that it is always a subjective choice, if one person decides, which posts to upvote or not.

I guess this is not that much of a problem though, because after the "initial" distribution the POB gets spread out more and then it should be handled naturally.

Third time I've read about PoB in the last 20 minutes. Guess I need to make a post. :)

It will be interesting in a week, once we have some Proof of Brain stake so our votes will be worth something.

It's interesting being in right at the beginning and seeing how this works. I notice some comments that have earned PoB say that they were posted using LeoFinance. Is it only posts that need to be posted in PoB in order to get upvotes?

Posts can be made on any Hive frontend as long as the post is tagged with "proofofbrain". Replies to a post that was posted on proofofbrain.io or has that has the tag are also eligible for POB rewards.

Great. Got it now. Thanks for the clarification.
