A new token named POB was launched on tribaldex.com on February 28th 2021. The whitepaper was posted on https://www.proofofbrain.io/ the same day.
POB is a mix of Bitcoin's tokenomics with Hive's information sharing/mining technology - Proof of Brain or PoB. It's clear that Bitcoin's issuance rate which includes a halvening every 4 years has been a success. POB token mimics Bitcoin's issuance rate including the 50% reduction in mining rewards every 4 years.
Where with Bitcoin you have bitcointalk.org, with POB you have proofofbrain.io. On the site you can see posts that are made by users that can log in with a Hive account and make posts to earn POB.
There are 50 tokens being issued every 10 minutes to users of the web site, which is the same rate at which BTC issuance started. Currently posts and comments get a reward based on the percentage of upvote received by @proofofbrainio. After the first week, the first users of proofofbrain.io will have stake so that they will also have a say in what is rewarded.
There has also been call to action asking for Hive users to post their content on https://www.proofofbrain.io/ to be able to take part in the initial distribution of the token.
It will be interesting to see how a token with Bitcoin's economics and Hive's PoB mining technology will play out. With any luck it could catch on because of the green movement and the attacks on Bitcoin because of the energy intensive mining.
PoB technology provides broader opportunities for people to mine crypto. The model was proven with Steem and the decentralized nature was proven and continued with Hive.
With two proven technologies combined together to give the best of both worlds, we might have a big winner here. Time will tell but you can watch it all unfold from the beginning with these links.
