Loved this book and I loved the film too. Very haunting. I struggled with the other two books. @holoz0r also wrote a review on it a whole back and loved it. It stayed with us a long time.
Recommend The word for world is forest by Le Guin if you haven't read it yet.
I hate when that happens, you like the first book and then the next ones in the series deviate in some way and/or are so different that they are not enjoyable. Dune was like that for me, and Enders game.
I'll keep that recommdation in mind!
