When you wait, you learn

‎Answers! You can only find them if you actively look for them. There is no way around it. If you are not seeking, consider yourself cut out from finding. Sometimes, people think that if they wait, the answers will come knocking; it happens on rare occasions. But there are times, you need to step out on your own and search.

‎You could ask a friend, Google it, observe what's happening around you, listen to the news, or join conversations on your social media platforms. You might not get the answers you are looking for in a short period, but if you keep digging, the answers to the puzzles will present themselves.

‎However, there is one sure way of getting things easily without stressing out too much. The upside of this method is that it requires patience. You can't just jump into it and expect the answers immediately, but when they show up, they change your perspective and possibly change your life.

‎What is the sure way to find answers? Joining a community. A network of people who have similar interests and often have more experience. You can't go wrong with communities. There will always be someone who knows a lot and can't wait to share. There will be people who are happy to show off how much they know, so they can be considered intelligent. You will find them in those communities. They need that social connection to feel alive. They might dig further into knowledge because the next time a conversation comes up, they want to chip in and receive admiring glances or words as proof that they brought value to the table.

‎Since you are the one without the experience joining and having patience gives you an edge because you can't predict when the conversation you are looking for will pop up. And you can't just join today and start asking questions straight up; you might not be well-received. Your community members might start to think you are just there as a parasite, hoping to gain without adding any sort of value.

‎The trick then is to join, observe for a while, look for the people who like to show off how knowledgeable they are, and pin yourself to them. Appreciate them, throw praises their way. Do it subtly or you might make them feel you are trying too hard. When you get their attention, they start to depend on you for those praises and attention, and you strike.

‎If you make even if it's one person comfortable about having you around, you've hit the jackpot. It is only then that you can drop your questions. Your "let's show them how much we know" person won't want to let you down; they will spill. Three times out of five, they can't wait to spill, so you will continue to shower them with admiration and praises as to how good they are at knowing things and having answers to questions people raise in the community.

‎When you have your chance, do not waste it. The way you can use this opportunity to the maximum is to make sure you prepare your questions in advance. This way, you don't leave any stone unturned and then lose. Even though you didn't have many questions planned because you didn't see the opportunity coming, read or listen to the answers they are providing in between lines, and dug up questions from there. Keep asking, do not be afraid, in the end, they will think of you as a worthy associate because your questions made them work their brains and contribute in ways they didn't think they could.

‎It works all the time. When your community members feel you make them more intelligent than ever before, they start to crave your presence. If you have more questions in the future, it will be easier to drop the ball and get attended to.

‎My advice is that when you want to get answers through the community, do not rush it. Join them, observe, tag along, and do whatever it is they are doing, allow them to be comfortable with having you around, and then strike.
