Passport is the license to "Travel more, worry less"!

in Proof of Brain10 days ago

At the begining of my professional career, I missed many of the offshore travel opportunities mainly because of lack of owning a passport. It was only then I realised how importsnt it is to own one. It happens many a a times that when the opportunities knocks our door, we do not have the requisite things to cash on it. Same things goes to me with my initial travel hiccups. Till that time I used to assume that passports is only meant for the richer people as they often makes abroad trips. But when i realised that the abroad travel can be experinced easily, I went ahead to make one on immediate basis. It was a good life experince, to own one legal citizen ship documents of our own country.

Legal way of crossing International borders

A passport is a valid document that allows us to travel to other country. I belive many people never ever care to make passport. It is not their fault as they never see themselves travelling to other country. Same goes to me, but my destiny had many surprises to offer. If I recalled correctly, I missed many (approx 7) offshore assignments that require travelling to #USA #china #Ireland #Belgium only different assignments. But again, only because I did not had the passports i could not travelled to anywhere . It is actually a key to unlocking the entire world. It simply grant us the freedom to visit any country around the world by simply obtaining the "Visa" from that country embassy. Once you have #visa, you will experince a smooth travel to that country. A passport grants its holder the privilege of hassle free international travel. A visa must accompanied on rhe passports to travel to the destination.

Getting an Indian passports

A passport is not merely a travel document, but it is also act as a identity and address proof of the country you belongs to. A person can obtain the passport of their resident country by simply applying to the different regional passport offices. Trust me it used to be a mess to make passports, untill the technology introduces some hassle free smooth experince. Now getting a passport is an easier process.

  • A person needs to apply through online.
  • Then choose an appointment date through the same website for documents physical verification. The person also needs to go through some scrutiny for their application. It was done to ensure issuing the passports to correct citizen.
  • The application will then proceed for legal verification. A police personals will make a personal visit, to authenticate the applicants details. (I still remember, it was first time ever, a policeman visited my home, and my dad was trembling in fear. He was not aware of the procedure).

Once the police verify the applicants and give no criminal clearance, we are good to get the passport in 10 days. It was issued by the central.government agency after verifying the authenticity of the local saying.

Indian passport ranking

According to the Henley Passport Index 2024, the Indian passport is ranked 82nd among all the nation. It allows its holders access to 62 countries. The Indian passport provides visa-free access to 60 destinations, including Indonesia, Thailand, and Rwanda. However, Indian citizens need a visa to enter 169 destinations, including China, Japan, Russia, the United States, and the entire European Union.

Importance of Holding Passports

A passport of any country typically contains information such as the holders name, date of birth, photograph, signature, and the issue and expiration dates of the passport. Once the date is expired, a person can renew it for another 10 years. There is always a nominal # charges involved for making a new passport or renewing the existing one.

A passport proves who we are and where we are from. It allows individuals to explore new countries, experience diverse cultures, and engage in international business. It is imporrant to hold it, and enjoy the travelling experience, when the opportunities comes by. Even, in case travelling is not in your radar, you can make one, as the passport is a universal proof of citizenship.

This is my Day 24 entry to Inleo Writing Prompt for the m/o April.

This post reminded me of when I got my first passport... to move to another country and all the requirements, plus the passport that identified me as Spanish, before I got my Spanish ID. It brought back memories.

Yes, but people should posses them as carrying a valid I'd proof. It has more value than any other documents.

It is true, for me it was important to have it and it should always be worn.

Here, we have to go to passport office and stand in lane and wait for our turn. Hope so things will be technological here soon.
There were many things about which I was not aware and I got to know after reading your blog. Now I can write on it too with a little detail 😉.

Yes this is not a detailed post to explain each and everything. But still the process is far more smoother and makes people to make their passport. ....technology is just making the process very easier

Getting your passport is a very difficult thing to do in my country !! After getting it again it isnt really sure youre getting a visa!!

Visa is tough process...convincing the need to travel is pretty tough job...but again if you have good track record it won't affect much

I totally understand!!!

It always amazes me that people actually don't hold a passport!

Back here in Singapore, I would think that it is compulsory to have it as like what you mentioned it proves / identify us as a citizen with all the other necessary information.

Glad that you now have a passport that allows you to also travel the world and experiencing different cultures! 😁
