My biggest fear with pay per used computing and bandwidth is that the app could get hit by a DDoS attack and the cloud would scale, serve and charge all those requests. Even static websites can become expensive if someone keeps downloading them 24/7 over 100Gbit links. You won’t have that problem if the server only has 100Mbit network connection.
