Drumming out the end of September

Some of you may have seen that I did another September song a while back. The actual month just ended and I was inspired to do this one. Of course Drumeo had the notation and a drumless backing track, so I gave it a go. I have only played it through a couple of times.

It always seems to be the way that I have some technical issues with recording these videos. This time I could not hear the drums through my speakers. It turned out that I had forgotten that I unplugged the cable recently. I recorded the audio on the PC and video with my phone, so I had to do the usual job of synchronising those. Then it turned out that the backing track had not been recorded, so I had to edit that in too. At least that let me adjust the balance.

So here is another performance from me. It is by no means polished, but it was fun.

As usual I was on my Roland TD-07 kit. Roland just launched a new top end kit, but that is way out of my price range. My next purchase may be some decent cymbals for my acoustic kit.

I may be trying a different style soon as my musician friends and I will be branching out. I know I can find lessons on Drumeo to help me along. We do not have any more gigs lined up yet, but we are always up for getting out to entertain.

Awesome man!! What a great song, and brilliant drumming!! I have always wanted an e-kit :)

It makes for more harmonious home life, but I get to play the other kit sometimes.

For sure! I had a kit many years back (20 years ago now...) and unfortunately it had to be sold as I would play in my garage that wasn't sound proofed, so yes, the neighbours were not fans of 15 years old me letting off steam after school! I might invest in an e-kit next year, or a bass guitar as I want to improve my groove!:)

Not polished but it sounds pretty good if you ask me. I love Greenday and they're one of those bands I haven't seen yet and still want to make it to a concert one day! Luckily my eldest son shares my love for this kind of music, although he would probably only go to see Greenday if I got the tickets, not on his own account haha. But I'll drag him to one of my bands one day. Thanks for this, it was a good listen.
Although a little strange, because where I am, summer never ends...

My daughter is a big Green Day fan and she has seen them a couple of times. We did this a few years back.

Just reminded me about Billie Joe Armstrong. I hope somebody has waken him up yet! A drum solo of yours could work ;)

He seems to do a sort of inverted hibernation and comes out for winter.

Drum solos are something I need to work on. Need the right song for it.

!BEER

I reckon they're good enough for a punk rock band already :))

Hey @godfish, here is a little bit of BEER from @steevc for you. Enjoy it!

Do you want to win SOME BEER together with your friends and draw the BEERKING.

Those Drumeo videos that are free on YouTube are really fun to watch. The ones where people play a song they have never heard before.

It's interesting when they don't know the song as they can come up with something very different. For this I tried to play what's on the record.

I think what surprises me the songs they have never heard before. I mean how do you go your whole life never hearing Enter Sandman or something like that.

I think some people are so focused on their music that they don't listen widely. If it's your job then you may want a break from it on days off. Their jazz guy had never listened to Nirvana, but then he has been immersed in jazz for years.

I guess since I like all kinds of music I just can't wrap my head around it. You would think at least in passing you might have heard one of the songs before.

Where will be gaps in my knowledge too, e.g. Christian rock, modern country. I'm not up on a lot of recent music as I don't listen to much radio. I agree that most people would know the real classics.
