In this opportunity I bring you a work that I made with a lot of feeling, it is about a fallen angel, I wanted to represent a melancholic and vulnerable figure, a winged being. While I show you the process I will be narrating a small text based on this work, I hope you like it.
Cayó del cielo un suspiro,
un eco roto, un lamento,
alas rasgadas en el frío,
de sueños truncos, de tormento.
En su regazo guarda el duelo,
el peso oscuro de la caída,
lejos del cielo, cerca de una estrella,
en busca de una salida.
¿Dónde quedó su vuelo eterno?
¿Dónde la luz que lo envolvía?
Ahora es polvo de un invierno,
sus alas cantan melancolía.
Pero en la distancia, brilla una estrella,
su luz susurra: "No estás perdido",
y el ángel, roto, gira hacia ella,
hallando fe en lo desconocido.
A sigh fell from the sky,
a broken echo, a lament,
wings torn in the cold,
of truncated dreams, of torment.
In her lap she keeps the mourning,
the dark weight of the fall,
far from the sky, close to a star,
in search of a way out.
Where is his eternal flight?
Where is the light that enveloped it?
Now it is the dust of a winter,
its wings sing melancholy.
But in the distance, a star shines,
its light whispers, “You are not lost,”
and the angel, broken, turns towards it,
finding faith in the unknown.
Este ángel representado con alas de apariencia quebrada y desgarrada, se encuentra en una posición acurrucada, como si buscara refugio o consuelo en sí mismo. Su cuerpo carece de detalles faciales, para así dar un enfoqué más emotivo. Las alas, a pesar de ser un símbolo de libertad y poder, quise hacerlas deterioradas, sugiriendo una caída o pérdida de propósito, y el detalle de la estrella es el más importante porque simboliza una luz distante, una esperanza o fe.
Para mí esta obra representa la caída, el arrepentimiento y la lucha interna con nosotros mismos.
This angel, depicted with broken and torn-looking wings, is in a huddled position, as if seeking refuge or solace within himself. His body lacks facial details, in order to give a more emotional focus. The wings, despite being a symbol of freedom and power, I wanted to make them deteriorated, suggesting a fall or loss of purpose, and the detail of the star is the most important because it symbolizes a distant light, a hope in the background could symbolize a distant light, hope or a link with the celestial, in contrast to the dejected state of the angel.
For me this work represents the fall, the repentance and the internal struggle with ourselves.
