An unexpected fortune came when we were hunting insects this afternoon in the hills of Alue Liem. What we first found were not insects, but mushrooms.
Some pretty little mushrooms were visible through the grass—something too dear to ignore. But there's something that disgusts me a bit there.
Damn it! They grow on cow dung. Luckily, the cow dung had dried and didn't stink, so I picked it up and moved it to a slightly lit place. I can't imagine if that got wet; I would have left it for sure.
I think they are the common conecaps, which in Latin has the scientific name Conocybe tenera . But why aren't they as tall as most of these mushroom species? It is certain that they are juvenile mushrooms.
Yes, they are juvenile mushrooms! Some of the mushrooms on the underside of the hat have not yet developed gills because they are covered with thin skin.
There is a stray growing there alone. Yes, it's a young fairy inkcap. Where is the herd?
But regardless, the cow dung has led me to these beautiful little mushrooms. So thanks to the cow that left its feces there.
