FungiFriday: Ruby Bonnet

This photo was taken in North Aceh, Indonesia, around the middle of October. I'm not entirely sure if it's the scarlet waxcap (Hygrocybe erythrocala ) or ruby bonnet (Cruentomycena viscidocruenta ), although I lean more toward the latter.

This species has a red cap with a yellow halo around the edges, which is rather striking. The gills are generally pale yellow, but some of them are also pale red and have a translucent pale red stem. If you touch the cap or stem, they will become extremely slimy and glue-sticky.
