SOME VERY INTERESTING MUSHROOM THAT GROW ON ROTTING TREES

in FungiFridaylast year

Hello everyone, happy Friday for all of you...

This my contributions to #FungiFriday challenge by @ewkaw in Fungi Friday Community

Hi everyone, this time I'm back to posting for Fungi Friday this week, and as usual, I've got some photos of mushrooms that I found in several different places, of course. These mushrooms certainly have different shapes, colors, and patterns. Depending on where they grow, these mushrooms have their own characteristics and all of them look unique and very beautiful. In the past few weeks, the rainy season has occurred in Indonesia and heavy rains have hit all cities, including the city where I live. This not only has an impact on the atmosphere of the city but has an impact on the vegetation that grows in several places. Even though the weather in the past few days has been a little sunnier and drier, I can still find some mushrooms growing thickly due to heavy rainfall in the past few weeks, and in this post I will show the results of my photos.

Let's start with a mushroom whose Latin name is Daedaleopsis Confragosa. This type of mushroom can be found in hard trees, and usually they will grow on the chipped wood, this section will of course be very susceptible to parasites and fungal spores, of course. I also found this photo on a rambutan tree which is not far from where I am, and the position of this mushroom growing is on a high branch. I couldn't photograph the mushroom from above because I couldn't climb the tree holding the camera, so I just tried to photograph it from the front. Here it is clear that the fungus is growing in the branches of the tree and the tree has not even died yet.

This type of mushroom is very easy to recognize, which has a semicircular shape, with a dark or light brown color. The distinctive feature of this mushroom is the lines on the edges, these lines consist of one big line and several small lines with bright colors. The edges of the mushroom are smooth and not sharp, making this mushroom almost perfect. This mushroom has a hard texture, this is very suitable for its habitat, which is in hard wood trees too. This mushroom grows in piles making it look a lot. Usually the underside of these mushrooms is white or light brown, and their unique color will darken as they age.

The next list is a mushroom that I found on the sidelines of rotting wood, this mushroom is known by the Latin name Trametes Versicolor, and some say that this mushroom is a turkey tail mushroom, this is probably due to its shape and color which really resembles a turkey's tail. This type of mushroom can usually display many colors on its surface, but this one only consists of a few colors. The Trametes Versicolor mushroom that I found this time is not a mushroom that has just grown and is considered old, this can be seen from the color of the base which has started to turn black, the brown color has started to darken and of course the texture has slightly hardened.

This mushroom can be characterized by a bright white underside, has edges along with a wavy surface, and an irregular shape. This fungus is very easy to find in damp places, such as under dead and decaying wood, bushes, and sometimes under grass where there is dead wood. Usually the wood that is overgrown with this fungus is fragile and easily rots when they are dead like coconut trees and so on.

While walking through the plantation, I saw a slightly unique Mushroom. This mushroom has a very similar shape to a flower, and at first I thought this mushroom was a wild flower that grows on a tree that has been cut down, but after taking a closer look it turned out to be a mushroom. The petals of this mushroom are very similar to flower petals and are irregular. The center of this mushroom is bright white and the outer edges are brown. The petals of this mushroom are like rolling down, and the older this mushroom is, the darker the color and the more it rolls inward until it leaves no petals at all. This mushroom only grows on trees that have been cut down but are still alive, and it is the surface of the cut wood that will later grow this type of mushroom.

And finally I got Lingzhi Mushroom or Reishi Mushroom from the Polypore Mushroom type. I think this mushroom is just growing which for a size like that is still very small for this mushroom which is famous for its wide shape like a fan. The mushroom that I got this time has several lines on its surface consisting of several colors such as brown, orange, and also yellow with the base color of this mushroom being white. The texture is very smooth and easy to fountain, they grow on loose wood surfaces, usually on the inside of the tree. When the rainy season arrives, it is very easy to find this fungus in plants that have started to rot.

At the same location I also found some Turkey Tail Mushrooms or young Trametes Versicolor Mushrooms growing. This is reasonable because the logs they land on are also still in the initial decay process and they are already growing even though the velum is spreading widely, and I'm sure they will grow a lot in that location later. Seen here, the young Trametes Versicolor mushroom is bright white with a few black lines on the edges, when it is still young this mushroom is very thin and very delicate and easily crushed. And the two types of mushrooms that grow in the same location make me really amazed, not only from their color and shape, but also the moment I got when they were young.

Those are some types of mushrooms that I managed to find for my Fungi Friday post this time, I hope you like them and see you on Fungi Friday posts next week.
