There's been very little fungi action this week, so I think this might be my last fungi post for a while. I did come across something unusual in the wood, though. Google lens is telling me it's Dog Vomit Slime Mould. Really?? It's not something I've heard of before and it's not a proper fungi but it looks the part. Getting close up to it, it looks too interesting to be compared with dog puke.
The only proper fungi I came across included some tiny fly agerics, but one had been disturbed. I really had to search for them as they were so tiny.
The forest floor this time of year, with its moss, twigs, and pine cones, looks lovely especially as I noticed some small puffballs. I always take some small pine cones back with me to decorate the Christmas wreaths I make.
Sadly, for this year, I think that's a wrap! Thank you to @ewkaw for running the #fungifriday contest. I've had a lot of fun but for now I'm having a break from being that weirdo in the wood!
