I'm a big fan of mushrooms, they are probably the neatest (and most nutritional) things nature has to offer. They are all sorts of shapes and sizes and colors!
This gigantic son of a decided to pop up right in the middle of the yard!
I'm not sure what conditions made it possible, I'm leaning on the heavy humidity at the time I took these shots, combined with the steady rain that preceded the thick air.
This one was massive. It was easily the size of a baseball or bigger before it even opened up its umbrella to shade the grass.
To put it into context, I took a few shots with my 16 oz #rockstar can next to it, and my foot.

Nice shrooms in the lawn! That thing is huge, impressive to see something that size just pop up in your yard. I wish I knew more about mushroom identification, that would be a cool hobby to go pick your own for free meals!
