Are the jack-o'-lanterns Armillaria??
I really like everything about fairy ring mushrooms. I need to find enough of them to try that cookie recipe I once saw...
It's common to see spindly little mushrooms like that conocybe in grass, isn't it? This morning I saw a single similar mushroom. Except it was quite large for this type. It was towering very high above the grass, and with the same shape cap (also large) atop a slender stipe. Danggit I should have taken a picture but it all happened so fast. This was right by soldier field.

Yeah I bet that tall one is a beech rooter. Fairy ring mushrooms can be tricky as they look alot like other mushrooms so be careful about cooking them lol. The jackolanters latin name is Omphalotus olearius they glow just like the honey mushrooms (Armillaria). The glow is very faint so its really tough to catch on camera. Even long exposures doesn't quite capture it.
