Happy #fungifriday π On a recent trip to middle America, I had the chance to hike a bit in a wildlife refuge area in Oklahoma. I took some picture of the local mushrooms.
First mushroom was a grey shelf mushroom, I think hoof fungus.
Here's a view of the log the hoof fungus was growing on.
We actually started the day in Kansas. This is typical of the area we were in.
Round colorful mushroom growing on a stump.
Here's another view. I think maybe these were Ganoderma sessile.
Here's a close up of the smaller mushroom.
One of the areas we walked was the Little River National Wildlife Refuge near Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

There were some swampy areas like this shot of green water.
These bright white mushrooms stood out in the filtered light of the forest.
Maybe Pleurotus pulmonarius aka Indian oyster or lung oyster.
This is a good place to remind everyone that I am an amatuer mushroom enthusiast without alot of experience. My ID's are at best wild guesses π€£
We were looking for snakes but didn't have much luck in this area.
Leucocoprinus cepistipes maybe? In any case, nice looking little white mushrooms.
These shelf mushrooms were decaying.
Always harder to get a good ID when you aren't sure about the life stage of the mushroom. I think these are well past their prime.
This young mushroom may be a Meripilus sumstinei, or giant polypore.
Maybe more of the same or maybe a different fungi. Again I think it is very young and just getting started.
Not sure of the ID on these shelf mushrooms but I always like mushrooms that create patterns like these π
Finally a couple of shots of a white puffy mushrooms.
These may be more of the same mushroom pictured about that I tenatively ID'ed as Leucocoprinus cepistipes - just not quite as far opened up.
In case you were wondering about the horse skull in the first photo π - this odd trail marker was at the end of one of the roads leading into the wildlife refuge. Probably just some silly Okies trying to scare us off π
Thanks for checking out my post π Thats it for the mushrooms.
Bonus pics:
Cute little tree frog found in the hanging plants at the place we stayed for the night.
There was a field in my hometown the grew mushrooms of the magic variety :)
I didn't find any of those lol
Yay! π€

Thanks EwkaW and thanks to @qurator for the support π
Aw, frogs are beautiful. We bought our place because of the frogs. Well, that and because we could afford it π
They do look like oyster mushrooms, and reishi too!!
We have a little creek that runs in spring and fall. It is full of green frogs π We love 'em πΈ
You are truly blessed!
The white ones remind me so much of the flower pot mushroom Leucocoprinus birnbaumii but those are yellow instead of white.
I gotta work on my mushroom identification skills π
