Good evening, FungiFriends!
Here is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw :)

On one of my short walks from home to the gym about a week ago, before the bad weather we've been having this week with lots of rain, I had a very pleasant surprise.
I had just made a small detour because I needed to stop at one of the hypermarkets nearby, but it wasn't on the way I was taking home.

I took the crosswalk to cross the road, and when I reached the other side, I noticed that in the flowerbed right next to me, two small structures were sprouting from the relatively even ground.
I took a step back, and that's when I noticed that they were actually four small mushrooms venturing out from under a juniper bush, which was half dry, probably due to constant pruning to keep it neat and aligned with the curb.

Two of them were like brothers... Almost “shoulder to shoulder,” growing and supporting each other. It really looked like one was in the shadow of the other.

Further away, less than half a meter away, was one of a different species, as its characteristics were very different from the first two.

In the opposite direction, but still under the protection of the juniper bush, I found a fourth one.
While the first two had a more fleshy-colored cap, this other tow had pearly white, speckled with irregularities that were almost reminiscent of elephant skin, but without lacking delicacy.
This one was more exposed, and perhaps that was why it attracted more attention, as it was already missing a piece in the shape of a half moon.
It looked as if it had already been partially bitten or cut by something... Perhaps a dog that passed by and decided to try the mushroom raw to see if it was tasty!

Unfortunately, I haven't had many opportunities to walk in the countryside. And I haven't been walking on city trails where there are oak trees and forests either.
Now that we are entering the best month to admire these little gems that burst from the ground, I can't pass up the opportunity to get some fresh air in these environments.
This weekend, I probably won't be able to do it. Since last week, around Friday, seven days ago today, I've had mild flu symptoms... And even today, my nose is still blocked. I don't feel fully recovered yet to be able to comfortably venture out on this discovery!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
You know what to do: take advantage of this November to share your discoveries more than ever!
I hope you enjoyed my humble post here in your #FungiFriday community!
