Understanding the game
The reason this farming game stands out from the crowd is that some NFTs in the game are linked to real farms and their produce. Stake a bee in the Hive and at the end of the season, you could have honey shipped to your home! Do not expect a daily routine of logging in, click Harvest All, then log off and expect your wallet to be bulging with tokens. The first question players ask when joining Discord is: Can I earn in this game and what's the ROI? The answer is yes and it depends.
Let's start at the beginning. Your farm has a large area where you can keep animals and plant crops. Animals need Food and plants need Water. Food is kept in Silos and water is kept in Water Towers. Food and Water are used whenever you harvest. Everyone gets a Common Silo and Common Water Tower to start with. There are 3 sizes of Silo and Water Tower, however, the cost to refill them is the same regardless of size. Therefore, you should get the largest Silo or Water Tower you can afford at the beginning to save on running cost.
Currencies
There are 3 currencies used in the game. They are SEST, CBIT and AUREUS.
Wallet
Like any other Wax game, you connect to the game with your Wax wallet. This Wax wallet is called "Main Wallet" on the game interface. There is also an in-game wallet where SEST and CBIT are also kept.
CBIT
CBIT is used to refill your Silo and Water Tower with Food and Water. Food costs 5 CBIT for a refill and water costs 50 CBIT. There are different ways to obtain CBIT. You can buy from Alcor or Taco using Wax. The recommended way though is to stake SEST for CBIT inside the game. The idea is to stake enough to cover your daily CBIT cost for Food and Water. There is also the added advantage that this CBIT reward is already in your in-game wallet waiting to be used.
SEST
SEST is the main currency used in FT. SEST is earned when you sell your finished goods through your Barn in the game. If you start with a common food Silo or Water Tower, you can upgrade by crafting a higher tier one from the Marketplace. You can also reinvest it in the Stake Pool to earn more CBIT in preparation for future expansion.
SEST is also sometimes used in Nefty Drops.
Since the latest big update of New Waxchester (NW) the 3D metaverse, basic products you harvested directly from your farm cannot be sold at the barn. You should travel to NW and process your farm produce into finished goods before taking them back to sell at the barn.
AUREUS
AUREUS is the currency for anything in New Waxchester. It is needed for entry to mini games and other events. You can start staking SEST or CBIT for AUREUS by going to the Rebus Bank in NW. Payout is live, and weekly, but has not yet been released into wallets and cannot be traded on any exchange yet. You can track it by following these instructions:
Assets
Now that you have understood the economics of the game, let's talk about the assets!
Silo and Water Tower
As already mentioned earlier, you should get the largest silo and water tower that you can afford.
Barn
A common barn (default) holds 100 items. A rare one holds 500, epic 1000 and legendary 1500. As with Silos and Water Tower, you should get the largest barn at the start. This is to avoid the headache of emptying your existing barn before unstaking and installing a bigger one.
Animals and Crops
Animals need a place to live. Different animals need different kind of housing. Geese go in a Geese Shelter. Hens go in a Chicken Coop. Goats, Cows, Sheep and Pigs go in a Stable.
Seeds come from Greenhouses. To get plants, all you need is to sow Seeds in a Vegetable Garden.
Legendary Buildings
There are a few legendary buildings giving special products. Fish comes from the Fishing Pier, Wood from the Lumberjack, Honey from the Hive, Seeds from the Greenhouse and more.
Pets
What is a farm without a working dog and a lazy cat? Your dog can be staked just in front of your house. Cats however, can be staked inside the house in your farm. Dogs and cats have no use case currently but are in the long term plans for the game.
More than one way to skin a cat
Now that you have an idea of the NFTs in the game, you will be eager to go shopping on Nefty or Atomic Hub and start your own Farming Tales. There is one more important aspect of the game you need to know. There is sometimes more than one way to obtain an item.
- Buy from Nefty or Atomic Hub
- Craft from Marketplace in your Farm
- Craft from Nefty Blends You can combine a lower rarity item with Vouchers to make a higher rarity one. Vouchers can be crafted in the Voucher Market in NW. After getting your Voucher you can head to Nefty to blend.

Collaboration with other Games
Farming Tales is welcoming other Games into the FT Metaverse. CastlesNFT is one such game. You can see the castle in the distance when you log on to NW. There are going to be Mini Games in each of these partner buildings all over NW and you will need to have AUREUS in order to participate. The first mini game is going to be the tractor race.

CPU Rent
Roy of cpu.rent) has kindly set up a booth in NW so that players can rent CPU time.
Taco App
After purchasing a Taco Sauce, players can access the Farm through the Taco App without going into the 3D game. This is a huge time saver as you can harvest produce on your mobile even when you are at work out and about:) You can also see what items you have in your Barn.

Conclusion
This game has been in development since 2021 and it is still going strong even in a bear market. The team has always put the longevity of the game first, having to make unpopular decisions in order to achieve this mission. The recent changes have made it so that it is not worthwhile for bots or players who just want a one-click game. I have hopefully given you the information you need to decide whether this is the game for you and if so, the different ways you can start your journey. I deliberately did not include any calculations of any kind because market prices change by the second, anything written down here would be outdated by the time you have finished reading.
The FT team have spent more than a year making NW and I think it shows, with nice touches like the street lamps lining the roads at night.
