When it comes to media quality, I always choose HD.
When watching Netflix, catching a random YouTube video, or scrolling Facebook, there's no question about choosing an HD/high-quality option. Moreover, my TV is HD/4K and I usually watch only the HD channels.
Why?
The answer is simple. I usually live under wifi 24/7 and don't have to use mobile data or other services.
I understand why some people have to choose other options.
Once my TV had some issues and the YouTube app was not working, I had to switch to the web version. The web was not loading the HD quality but required other options to fully load. Ah! It was so frustrating to watch an unclear, blurred video.
It reminded me of how we adapt so quickly. Even a few years ago, we used to watch blurred or low-quality videos without any complaints.
Now, I can wait for a smooth wifi time if I'm having issues than watching blurry or pixilated videos. I can't remember when was the last time I watched a 144p video or suffered in buffering.
I'm not arrogant to have this but you can say blessed. Life would surely be different if I had to go back or choose other options than HD.
WhatsApp?
I'm not a WhatsApp person, I only am in contact with my friends and family; not in many groups and chats. So, I don't use it as a platform but as a contract option.
I only share photos and videos occasionally on WhatsApp. And I choose the 'do not download' option when someone sends me any media. So, I only watch what I need/feel interested in watching.
Probably, that's the reason I have not faced any issues with WhatsApp so far.
I believe it's not about tech seavy but I'm taking full benefit of the opportunity I have. The sharpness of HD hits differently.
Now, our children are too used to high-quality videos; they never watched the 144p version. I can't think about what they will feel if they don't have HD even for one day.
