Hoy les quiero mostrar mi mas reciente obra. Una ilustración de una sirena coleccionista.
Hello Hive friends! I hope you are doing well. Today I want to show you my most recent artwork. An illustration of a mermaid collector 💦.
La idea de esta ilustración comenzó con un significado totalmente diferente al que terminó. Mi idea en un inicio era expresar algo triste, porque en ese momento no lo estaba pasando bien. Es un tema muy denso que si bien puedo explayarme a explicar, no quiero que sea el tópico principal de esta publicación.
Decidí terminar esta ilustración por una revision de portfolio que tuve con el increíble Justin Gerard, sus opiniones y sugerencias me dieron un motivo para terminar esta obra y cambiarle el significado y terminarla como una pieza de estudio.
The idea of this illustration started with a totally different meaning than the one it ended up with. My idea at the beginning was to express something sad, because at that moment I planned this piece, I was not having a good time. It is a very dense topic despite I can explain now, I don't want it to be the main topic of this publication.
I decided to finish this illustration because for a portfolio review I had with the amazing Justin Gerard, his opinions and suggestions gave me a reason to finish this artwork and change the sad meaning and finish it as a studio piece.
Justin Gerard es un artista profesional que ofrece tutorías a través de su Patreon, tiene un canal de twitch donde comparte consejos y los procesos de sus ilustraciones, es un muy agradable sujeto y todo un professional de la industria, lo admiro mucho.

A mi me dio varios trucos y consejos para tener más paciencia con mis pinturas y otros tips para el pintado con el uso de las capas, la verdad su tutoría me ayudo muchísimo y valió totalmente la pena.
He gave me several tips and tricks to have more patience during my paint time and other tips for painting with the use of layers and layer properties; his tutoring helped me a lot and it was totally worth it.
𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓬𝓮𝓼𝓼
Desde el inicio decidí seguir el consejo que Justin me dio y mezclar el estilo manga que estoy practicando con el estilo pintura de otras piezas que ya he hecho.
Hice un Lineado muy marcado por este motivo
From the beginning I decided to follow the advice that Justin gave me and mix the manga style I have been practicing with the painting style of other pieces that I have already done.
I made a very defined Lineart for this reason.
Justin fue el que me sugirió que hiciera un estudio de valores previo a empezar la pieza, como este paso que esta aquí.
Justin suggested me to do a previous value study for start the piece, Like this next step.
Lo ideal aca es empezar a colorear desde este estudio de valores, pero no se como hacer eso, así que lo que hago es ponerle colores a la pieza y voy pintando poco a poco para que las luces y las sombras se vayan asemejando al estudio que hice en blanco y negro.
No creo que sea la manera más eficiente pero para esta ocasión lo hice así.
Y bueno a partir de aca es todo pintar y seguir.
The ideal here is to start coloring from this study of values, but I still don't know how to do that, so what I did instead is to put colors on the piece and I paint little by little so the lights and shadows are similar to the value study I did before.
I don't think this is the most efficient way to do it but for this occasion I did it this way.
From this point is just PAINting.
Un consejo que me dio Justin fue que, al entrar en el “modo pintar” coloque de fondo audiolibros, series de tv, música sin lirica, para que me ayude a distraerme sin perder el foco de lo que estoy haciendo.
Aun sigo probando pero hasta ahora los OST de videojuegos y la música SYTHWAVE / CHILLWAVE me han dado resultados positivos.
Y este es el resultado final.
An advice Justin gave me was that, when I go into "painting mode" I can play audiobooks, TV series, non-lyrical music in the background, to help me get distracted my brain without losing focus of what I'm doing.
I'm still testing but so far the OST of videogames and SYTHWAVE / CHILLWAVE music have given me positive results.
And this is the final result!

A la final cambié la trama de la historia de la pieza y decidí que seria algo así como una sirena coleccionista de cosas humanas que esta empezando a armar su colección, primero empezó por lo más brillante, y uno que otro huesito ¿Quién sabe que cosas recolectará después? 👀
In the end I changed the plot of the story of the piece and decided that it would be something like a mermaid collector of human things that is starting to build her collection, first she started with the shiny stuff, and one or another bone. Who knows what things she will collect next? 👀

STOPTe quedó #.Beautiful!! yo me hubiera cansado de hacer tantos detalles tan chiquitos para realizar y resaltar en el fondo (no me acostumbro a tanto) me fascinó fue el coloreado de la aleta de la sirena, esa fusión de colores claros en trazos finos y además esto:
No sé, me gustó como se vé esa línea. Siento que podría ser cool aplicar algo así a la hora de pintar el cabello a mis personajes y no que se vea esa línea negra del líneart con cualquier color base aplicado.
Muchas gracias! Bueno lo de la cola lo que hago es que le cambio el color a las líneas, en cualquier momento me puedes preguntar y te explico como se hace.
Le puse mucho empeño a esta pieza, me alegra saber que quedo bien y se nota el esfuerzo.
