I am really eager to see more local businesses resume HBD transactions and also onboard more customers. The more local businesses accept HBD, the bigger opportunities we utilize to get many customers to learn about Hive. Today, I started this journey to visit the businesses I listed much earlier to see how they are doing. The visits would try to isolate challenges faced by businesses owners and profer solutions so they could start accepting HBD once again.
Gods Own Supermarket
Naturally, Gods Own Supermarket was the first point of call because it's closest to Happy Customer Supermarket - just 10 minutes walk. I arrived at this business location around noon. Happily, I met with the manager and had some setious talk with her. We spoke a lot about different aspects of the business and how they are coping with the adoption of HBD as a means of payment.
The main challenge at this business is that customers often appear to be in a hurry, although some are ready to wait and claim discounts. But since almost all the customers ask for price reductions or some form of discount, I encouraged the manager to seize that opportunity to let them know about spendHBD. We had a good talk and she really gave me time as she was eager to see HBD transactions resume again at her business.
After the talks, I had to demonstrate to her that many customers would be happy to spare few minutes to claim their discounts. I was able to approach some of the customers tactfully and 4 of them responded and were willing to spare some time to sign up and see how the system works.
Onboarding 4 Customers
I approached each of the customers tactfully while they were picking up stuffs to buy. After a friendly greeting, I let them know that there is a way to pay less for more - and hey could actually get discounts for their purchases. It hooked their interests and the conversation picked up from there. I explained that the shop accepts crypto and actually rewards customers that pay with HBD. I had to demonstrate how it works.
For the first customer, he was happy to give all the time it requires. He quickly downloaded Hive Keychain and I helped him buy a hive account with 3 Hive through spendHBD sign-up front-end and Hive Keychain. His account was imported and he was happy to receive 2 HBD to buy some groceries.
I showed him how to scan the receipt generated by the store and pay with the HBD. He later claimed discount and was happy. At the end, he told me he is a content creator and would be happy to learn more. We have a date to meet again on Monday. I asked for a selfie.and he was happy to share one with me. Next on this journey
I will go ahead to visit the next business closes to Happy Customer Supermarket. That includes Grand Options and some other businesses. I want to make sure that the owners of these businesses resume accepting HBD and offer their customers the opportunity to learn about Hive.
We will grow and expand the ecosystem and gradually approach mass adoption of HBD locally. This is what we are doing and it's going to really add value to Hive. We also want to follow the newbies in their journey on Hive and make sure they complete the beginners courses. Lets see how it goes from this point onwards.
