Growing with Hive

It has been over three weeks since i attended the last hive training session led by @fokusnow at the hive training center in Aba.

The event brought together both newbies and old member of Hive, and it was such a wonderful experience for me. We didn't come together to just learn, but also connect with others, share experiences, discuss progress, and even challenges we face as individuals on hive.

One of the major highlights of that session which stood out for me, was the topic of growing one's staking or building one's hive power. Before that training, I must say that I don't really see the importance of staking. Like many others, I thought staking was just something you do once in a while or when you want to. But after that discussion, I came to understand that growing one's hive power is as important as being consistent on hive itself. The two go hand in hand.

The truth is, many of us focus so much on posting contents, engaging, and earning that we sometimes overlook the power of staking. What I learned from that session is that staking is not only for personal benefits, it is also a way of supporting the Hive ecosystem as a whole. The most stake you have, the more influence you can exert in supporting others through curation, and the more stable the system becomes for everyone.

Other than that too, Powering up is like building a savings culture. For many, Saving power can be very difficult because there are always bills, emergencies, and daily needs to rake care of. With hive, it becomes a kind of enforced saving. Once you power up, you are not easily tempted to spend them. The more stake, the more benefits you get, and gradually your account becomes more valuable.

So yesterday, I decided to take staking very important. I no longer see it as an optional activity, but as a habit I must develop for growth. I decided to join the weekly staking contest organized by @fokusnow. The idea is simple, yet very powerful. The rule is to stake at least 1 hive everyday or 7 hive every weekend. This may sound small but when done consistently you will be surprised at how much you can grow over time.

Yesterday i powered up about 80 hive as seen In the screenshot below.

This is my way of not only starting the contest but also challenging myself to stay consistent. It feels good to know that every hive i staked today is preparing me for the future.

Apart from the contest, I also plan to make powering up a personal routine. My goal is to power up at least three times a week no matter how small. Even if it is 2 Hive today, 3 Hive tomorrow, or 7 Hive over the weekend, the most important thing is staying consistent. I strongly believe that it is not the size of each stake that matters most, but the commitment to keep doing it regularly. With time, all those small amounts will add up to something significant.
