The coffee plunger, alternatively known as the French press/cafetière à piston has 3 functions (possibly even more with new innovation)
- Brewing & Filtering coffee grounds from the infused water.
- Milk frothing & texturing
- Brewing of loose tea.
Brewing of loose tea
The french press can effectively replace a tea infuser, but there are a couple of cons to it.
This is only suitable for lighter teas that do not require a long brew time.
Loose tea happens to be very fine, thus brewing for too long may result in a bitter tasting tea.
