In Cuba, coffee is sold on just about every corner. All you need are a few cups and a thermos filled with the aromatic drink. We’re talking about the cheapest coffee that can be sold, and of course, the most accessible for most Cubans.
My wife and I, for example, when we don’t have coffee at home, go to any of the neighbors who run these small businesses. There are many nearby, but there are two neighbors who can proudly boast about the flavor of their coffee, because not everyone who does this prepares it with the necessary quality.
However, there are people who not only focus on quality, but also try to stand out through their image and by offering something different. Near my workplace, I found a woman who, in my opinion, has the best mobile coffee stand in Santiago de Cuba.

Most coffee vendors only offer one specific type of coffee: the filtered variety made with a Moka pot, which they store in thermoses and then serve in cups until it runs out.
At Café Revilla, things are different. First of all, the stand isn’t limited to just a small table with cups, a thermos, and some container to wash the used cups. As you can see in the photos, it’s more than a stand, it’s a cart equipped with everything needed to provide attractive, quality service.

Anyone who passes by for the first time feels compelled to change direction, taste what’s being prepared there, and then continue on their way. In addition to regular coffee, they also offer cortado and café con leche, and finally, they even have hot chocolate as an alternative to coffee.
I ordered a cortado, and I thought I wouldn’t feel satisfied, because sometimes when the eyes are pleased, the palate isn’t as impressed. I was happy to be wrong, because it was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life.
It even made me want to create my own stand similar to this one. Of course, I would probably add other options, including snacks and different ways of preparing coffee. I’ve become a fan of Café Revilla. I think they’re going to take all my money.
