Hello to all coffee lovers, good morning. Today I'm joining The Coffee Shop Prompt | Week 137: October 9-15. This is my response to the question posed in the initiative:

Describe a single vivid detail from a coffee shop visit and reflect on why it stayed with you.

This week I had to go to Tigre several times to run errands, and since leaving Guanipa to go there can sometimes be tedious, I don't waste a single second of my visit to my hometown. You have no idea of all the things I do while I'm there, before or after my errands. I walk around the historic sites to take pictures, check out the stores with promotions and sales—remember that the country is already decked out for Christmas—and, of course, visit the coffee shops I haven't had a chance to go to yet. This week, it was Café Madero's turn, since I was very close to its location.

Its name is actually Madero's Coffee Market, and that's because what started as a mini market gradually became a trendy coffee shop in the city, and now in the evenings, it's also a restaurant, market, and coffee shop all at the same time. It has two areas: inside with air conditioning and outside in the open air. However, although there is a spectacular breeze there, I only recommend staying outside very early in the morning and at night. The rest of the day, stay inside, because our plains region is currently experiencing high temperatures during the day, which sometimes make us seek shelter in cooler places.

Okay, now I'll get straight to the answer about what attracted me to this little café. I was getting ready to go to the market, which was the last of my errands, and I went in for just a coffee. I was very struck by the fact that this has been the only place so far where, when I asked what they had to offer, they gave me a verbal menu with all the coffees available, including our traditional Llanero coffee. After mentioning them all, the girl said to me, “And if you want a guayoyo, we can also prepare it to your liking.” That convinced me, ha ha ha... speaking to me in Creole in a Creole place is priceless.

I still haven't found a café in the city where we can watch them prepare a guayoyo our way, Creole style, Llanero style, as we prepare it in the countryside, with a cloth strainer and boiled water, even on a stove, but I know there must be a little place hidden away somewhere. I enjoyed my guayoyo, it was very smooth, just the way I like it, with a very pleasant flavor and aroma, and when I finished, I left to continue with my errands, confident that I would return for another visit to Tigre.

Hola a todos los amantes del café, muy buenos días. Hoy me uno a The Coffee Shop Prompt | Semana 137: 9-15 de octubre. Ésta es mi respuesta a la pregunta planteada en la iniciativa:

Describe un detalle vívido de una visita a una cafetería y reflexiona sobre por qué te ha quedado grabado.

Esta semana he tenido que ir varias veces al Tigre a hacer diligencias, y como realmente salir de Guanipa para ir hasta allá a veces resulta tedioso, no desaprovecho ni un segundo de visita a mi ciudad natal. No tienen idea de todo lo que se me ocurre estando allá, después o antes de mis diligencias, paseo por los sitios históricos para tomar fotografías, reviso los comercios con promociones y ofertas, recordemos que ya el país se vistió de navidad, y por supuesto, visito los cafetines donde aún no había tenido oportunidad de ir. Esta semana le tocó la oportunidad al Café Madero, ya que yo me encontraba muy cerca de su ubicación.

Su nombre realmente es Madero´s Coffee Market, y es porque lo que inició como un mini market, poco a poco se fue convirtiendo en un cafetín de moda en la ciudad, y ahora en las noches, también es restaurante, market y cafetín al mismo tiempo. Tiene dos ambientes; adentro con aire acondicionado, y afuera al aire libre, pero en ese sitio aunque hay una llegada de brisa espectacular, quedarse en la parte exterior lo recomiendo sólo en las mañanas muy temprano, y en la noche. El resto del día, adentro, porque nuestra zona llanera está presentando ahora mismo unas elevadas temperaturas durante el día que a veces nos hacen guarecernos en sitios frescos.

Ok, ahora voy directamente a la respuesta acerca del detalle que me atrajo de este cafetín. Yo me preparaba para ir a hacer el mercado, que era la última de mis diligencias, y entré a tomar sólo un café. Me llamó mucho la atención que éste ha sido hasta ahora el único sitio donde al preguntar qué me ofrecen, me dan la carta verbalmente con todos los cafés disponibles, e incluyen nuestro café tradicional llanero en la lista. Después de mencionarlos todos, la chica me dijo: “Y si desea un guayoyo, también se lo preparamos a su gusto”. Con eso me dejó convencida, jajaja… hablarme en criollo en un sitio criollo, no tiene precio.

Todavía no he conseguido un cafetín en la ciudad donde podamos ver preparar un guayoyo al estilo nuestro, criollo, llanero, como lo preparamos en el campo, con colador de tela y agua hervida, incluso en fogón, pero sé que por ahí tiene que haber un lugarcito escondido. Disfruté mi guayoyo, estaba muy suave, como a mí me gusta, con un sabor y un aroma muy agradables, y al terminar, me retiré para seguir con mis pendientes, con la seguridad de volver en otra visita al Tigre.
