There are cafes that are not just coffee shops, but refuges for souls, and there are names that are born from play, affection, and complicity between friends. This is the case of: Alberto's Café.
The story of Alberto's is one of those that is told with a smile. Two lifelong friends, dreamers and entrepreneurs, called each other “Alberto” in a joking tone: “Alberto, I'm here,” “Alberto, how crazy yours.” And so, between laughter, shared ideas and a strong friendship, a dream was born: to open a bohemian, intimate cafe, with good music, good coffee and a better atmosphere.
When they achieved it, they did not hesitate: the name would be a tribute to their way of loving themselves, of dreaming, of calling themselves.
This is how Alberto's Café was born. Over time, as often happens in Cuba, the original owners (whom we were lucky enough to know) emigrated from the country and the place changed owners.
However, although the faces of those who managed it were different, the soul of Alberto's remained intact. Each new owner understood the essence of the place, and they take care of it like a fire lit in the middle of the night.
Today, Alberto's Café continues to be a meeting point for the most bohemian and sensitive youth of Camagüey, those who love lyrics, who vibrate with trova, with rock, with songs that tell truths. Alberto's is more than a cafe: it is a house for those who fully experience creation.
The decoration is as charming as its history. There are details that have been maintained with respect: sugar is served in old coffee pots, as the first Alberto's did, and that custom, far from seeming eccentric, has become a symbol.
A nod to nostalgia, to the origins. Small acts of daily memory that make the place a unique place.
The menu also pleases all tastes: from the classic Cuban latte to creamy cappuccinos, artfully crafted lattes and an espresso that awakens even dreams. Albertos Café does not need big campaigns to attract customers. Just enter once, and the place stays inside you. Because it's not just about coffee. It is about that something more difficult to explain: a spirit that remains, an environment where people feel at home, where music speaks for everyone, where stories intersect, and where friendship—as at the beginning—continues to be everything. And there are names that are not forgotten.
There are places that don't change. There are essences that are neither sold nor bought.... and believe me, there are already several friends who leave there calling themselves "Alberto" affectionately. So "Alberto" is a seal of friendship, which perhaps without the knowledge of the original owners, has transcended... A hug to all my Albertos!! Health...
