The other day, I was in the city of Las Tunas for a literary event and I got to visit this café with such an interesting theme again. Let me introduce you to Hogwarts, a tiny Harry Potter-themed space right in the heart of the city. 🏰
Las Tunas is a very small city. This café is very close to the Martí Plaza, right in the center of everything important. It's not very big, but the decoration is beautiful. I confess that when I saw "cámara" without an accent and "ha sido" without an 'h,' I thought, "friends of spelling, be afraid," but let's not be so harsh. I'm not Hermione, correcting spells. 📚😅
I ordered an espresso because I hadn't had a drop of coffee at that time of the morning and I was exhausted, to say the least. Besides, the event's schedule was very packed; I had activities every day. The coffee wasn't the best I've ever had, but I've been there on other occasions and it was better. Let's just assume they were also having a bad day. ☕ They offer other things besides coffee.
The place has an electric generator, which is essential for running a business in today's Cuba, where blackouts happen whenever they feel like it. ⚡ However, Las Tunas is better in that sense than the capital itself: the scheduled blackout times are actually followed. Four-hour rotations with and without power. When you live under these conditions, you'd better adapt, which is why you're grateful that Hogwarts has a generator. 🔌
My only complaint is that when the generator is connected, if they are using the kitchen or the blender, they can't make coffee. I think it can only handle one appliance at a time. Another day I went, during a full blackout, they were cooking something and the wait for the coffee was excessive. 😫
That being said: the place is still pretty and central, and I've seen them working until the early hours of the morning (I still remember a certain iconic night out in that city where we got tired of listening to the troubadours and we all, one by one, slipped away to meet up there and have coffee. It was around 2 am or something like that). 🌙☕
El otro día anduve por la ciudad de Las Tunas en un evento literario y pude repetir en este café de temática tan interesante. Les presento Hogwarts, un minúsculo espacio con temática Harry Potter en el mismo corazón de la ciudad 🏰.
Las Tunas es muy pequeña. Este café queda muy cerca de la Plaza martiana, en el mismísimo centro de todo lo importante. No es demasiado grande, pero la decoración es hermosa. Confieso que cuando vi “cámara” sin acento y “ha sido” sin hache pensé “amigos de la ortografía, temed”, pero mejor no seamos tan duros. Que yo no soy Hermione, corrigiendo hechizos. 📚😅
Me pedí un expresso porque a esta hora de la mañana no había tomado una gota de café y estaba agotada no, lo siguiente. Además, el programa del evento estaba muy cargado, tuve actividades todos los días. El café no era el mejor que he probado, pero he ido antes en otras ocasiones y estaba mejor. Mejor asumimos que ese día ellos, también, estaban de malas. Además de café brindan otras cosas.
El lugar tiene generador eléctrico, cosa imprescindible para llevar un negocio en la Cuba de hoy, donde los apagones ⚡caen como les da la gana. Sin embargo, Las Tunas está mejor en ese sentido que la mismísima capital: los horarios de los apagones programados se cumplen. Rotaciones de cuatro horas con y sin corriente. Cuando uno vive en estas condiciones, más vale adaptarse, por eso uno agradece que el Hogwarts tenga generador. 🔌
Mi única queja es que cuando lo tienen conectado, si están usando la cocina o la batidora no pueden hacer café. Creo que solo aguanta un equipo por turno. Otro día que fui, en pleno apagón, estaban cocinando algo y la tardanza para el café fue excesiva. 😑
Ahora bien: el sitio sigue estando bonito y céntrico, y los he visto trabajar hasta de madrugada (todavía recuerdo cierta salida icónica en esa ciudad en que nos cansamos de escuchar a los trovadores y nos fugamos, uno a uno, para reunirnos allí y tomar café. Eran como las 2am o algo por el estilo). 🌌☕
Al parecer tener un café temático de Harry Potter se está volviendo tendencia en las ciudades de Cuba 😅. Con el de Santa Clara ya son dos que he oído mencionar.
Respecto a los apagones aquí en Santiago ya no hay cronograma, así que imagínate.
