S'mores MIlkshake at Breadworth's Bakery Cafe

From Tierra Alta, it was time to go back to Dumaguete City. It was around quarter to three at that time, so to make the most out of our stay in Negros, we decided to look for another spot where we can kill time. The husband still has work to be done, so he let me look for a place where he could continue working - a cafe with an internet connection.

Google Maps was a friend, I found there's one just in Paseo Perdices along Rizal Avenue named Breadworth's Bakery Cafe, this is a perfect place I thought because it was just next to the boulevard and we had been looking forward to taking photographs at the boulevard which we did, you can check that here.

Parking at Rizal Boulevard is tricky so we had to park somewhere but it was not right next to Paseo Perdices, we had to walk a bit but that's okay, parking was also free but then, if you get here a little later, it would be filled with cars and other vehicles already.

Paseo Perdices has security guards and we have to get our temperature checked too upon entering, including Matti. Most people were wearing masks but they didn't require my baby to wear one.

I spotted Breadworth's Bakery Cafe immediately. On Google Maps, the photos look really neat but I missed checking if it is a good spot for nomads.

Getting inside, I found their bakeshop very neat with the wood accents in the bar and the cashier area. The tables are also very admirable and really look classy. The wall facing the bar has been filled with these wooden chopping boards. I can't really count them but they do look really interesting!

Matti and I came inside first and since there were only a few people around, we settled at the lounge next to the wall. Most of the diners here are students. I could see them wearing their uniforms. This is how the entire cafe looks while we were sitting. It was challenging getting my baby to behave as he was interested in the chopping boards! He kept on picking those which he could reach!

I observed the cafe a few minutes before ordering, I really don't know what to order because first, we came from Tierra Alta and I was kind of full at that time, so I thought maybe I need a few minutes to decide and I just observed what people were ordering, I wonder if you are like that too?

I really regret not making my research diligently because when the husband arrived, we figured the cafe doesn't have outlets and the husband's laptop was almost battery drained, but the cafe staff was so nice he allowed us to use an extension but the problem was it can only be accessed from the outside, it was fine as long as we could charge the laptop.

And then another one was that they don't have Wifi during our visit! It was disappointing but since we were in the main city of Dumaguete, the mobile internet connection was pretty fast so we used our mobile data instead.

I decided checking out the display of pastries first. Croissant, Chocolat Au Pain, Cinnamon Roll, Tuna & Bacon Turnovers, Apple bread, and sandwiches. Breadworth is making really good unsweetened bread, wheat rolls, sandwich bread and a host of different smaller breads.

The specialty of Breadworth is the crack’de-sal it is like the Filipino pandesal but with less water so the crustis thicker and more crispy. Make sure you check the baking scheule what time these crackdesals are finished because they sell out really fast.

After much thinking, I decided to go with S'mores Milkshake and Berry Yogurt Smoothie. They are both non coffee based drinks because I thought drinking coffee at that time would bring us jitters, I don't want to be unable to sleep that night especially that it was already four in the afternoon. I usually drink coffee in the morning.

I also got some crunchy toasted baguette for Matti, he loves anything crispy so the bread was a hit for him. It was just baguette bread which was toasted with olive oil and some seasonings. It's called Crostini. I like it too!

We just killed time inside and drank our sweet drinks. I like the ambiance here plus the people around were not very mindful of my baby so all was well. We decided to get out of the cafe when it was starting to show some afternoon golden hour. It was time for some street photography!

Oh, we found this nice wooden staircase in the same building. It leads guests to the second floor and there were few more other restaurants and cafes. They even got a really nice area for Potato Fries as the second floor has a glass wall and a veranda so guests and diners could watch Rizal Boulevard from there.

This is the ancestral home of the Pardices' Family. A living legacy of their contribution to society through their tile cottage industry in the early 50's and the dedicated public service and love of the late Governor Mariano Francisco B. Perdices to the people of Negros Oriental.

Overall, Breadworth's Bakery Cafe is a nice and clean cafe with really good bread options, their pricing are reasonable, the staff are pretty approachable and they got fresh breads available all day! The only concern though was the outlets and the wifi connection.

Hello @junebride
Yeah, there were some good posts, heh-9.jpg

I have eaten at that cafe before, long before the pandemic. It was always booming with business, and it's good to hear that things are going well there.
The menu is extensive, and your photos look amazing. It's such a perfect spot; I always looked forward to walking and dining along the boulevard there in Dumguete. Negros is so beautiful. I spent time in Valencia, and it was amazingly nice with fresh mountain air, except the sulfur vents 😂

cool... I only had passed by the area where there was smoke coming out of the ground though while on the way to Pulang Bato...

Ok, it's interesting to see that there is something like that around, right by the main road:)

I think the chopping boards on the wall are actually cheese boards or maybe they are both the same thing lol. Either way, it's a cool and unique decoration.

i guess so too hehe

What a great place!

Hahaha very funny story, I imagine the face of your husband when he needed internet and electricity and could not get it, luckily there was coffee nearby and could lower the stress hahaha.

thankfully both cases, we found a way out... thanks!

Greetings! Thank you for sharing your coffee experience. Blessings

Ang sasarap ng pastries! I bet the coffee would be even nicer! And the place is so cool as your photos! 😊
