Hello coffee lovers on Hive!
@cinnccf has a fun initiative for us this week. It's an invitation to reflect on how these Halloween days have brought laughter, opportunities to show off costumes and feel transformed, experiences of confronting fear, and how all of this is reflected in aspects of our lives and emotions.

I suppose that in many places around the world you can find busy cafes where you can enjoy yourself in keeping with the spirit of the holiday, but here in my country the situation is different. Cuba is suffering the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in the eastern part of the island, and this only demonstrates, once again, how situations are deliberately created for us to live in constant fear.

For my part, I've been consumed by endless sadness for many months now, but precisely because of that, I want to think positively and focus on sharing with you my visit today to this café, prompted by @cinnccf's suggestion. The café's usual theme makes it easy, in a way. There's no other option but to immerse ourselves in the world of Harry Potter!

Although I've been here before, I'm returning today, taking advantage of the decorations in keeping with the occasion. I pour myself a coffee and try to clear my mind, at least for a moment. I can't manage it; too many thoughts, memories, and feelings crowd in. I smile to keep sadness at bay and heed @cinnccf's advice: to reflect on what I must accept. It also leads us to identify what parts of myself I hide or reveal to the world... I order another cup of coffee. They bring it to me with a smile. I write a cathartic verse and sigh. I sigh like someone casting that verse to the wind, hoping to hang it among the clouds.
As for what I reveal to the world, it's simple. I always show myself as I am, a naked heart. Hide something? I don't think so. I'm not one to lie or conceal anything.
Yes, I know what I've said might seem unrelated to Halloween, but in Cuba, Halloween is different, it's part of everyday life. People sadly wear costumes in their daily lives. The anxiety is different, simply different, and it multiplies exponentially...
But let's get back to our topic so we don't get sidetracked or succumb to sadness. Let's order another cup of coffee. Let's smile. Let's smile again and play dress-up like children do!
As you can see, the café is practically empty, but that doesn't stop me from sitting down to enjoy a delicious, strong coffee and dressing up with a few props. That way, you can imagine you're here too and tell me what you think.

@cinnccf nos propone en esta semana una divertida iniciativa para muchos. Se trata de una invitación a reflexionar sobre cómo estos días de Halloween han provocado risas, oportunidades de mostrar disfraces para sentirnos transformados, vivencias de enfrentamiento al miedo y cómo todo esto se refleja en aspectos de nuestras vidas o emociones.

Supongo que en muchos sitios del mundo sí puedan encontrar cafeterías concurridas donde se disfrute a tono con la fecha, pero acá en mi país la situación es diferente. Cuba está sufriendo los destrozos que ocasionó el paso del Huracán Melissa por la zona oriental y ello solo evidencia, una vez más, cómo se nos propician situaciones para que vivamos en permanente terror.

Por mi parte, llevo muchos meses en los que la tristeza me abraza sin fin pero, precisamente por ello, quiero pensar en positivo y centrarme en compartir con ustedes la visita que realicé hoy a esta cafetería a raíz de la propuesta de @cinnccf. La temática habitual del sitio lo facilita de algún modo. ¡No queda otra que sumergirnos en el mundo de Harry Potter!

Si bien antes ya había estado acá, hoy regreso aprovechando el decorado a tono con la fecha. Me sirvo un café e intento dejar la mente en blanco por un instante al menos. No lo logro, demasiados pensamientos, recuerdos y sentimientos me agolpan. Sonrío para no permitir que la tristeza se aproxime demasiado y hago caso a lo que nos pide @cinnccf, reflexionar sobre lo que debo aceptar. También nos lleva a identificar qué partes oculto de mí mismo o revelo al mundo... Pido otra taza de café. Me la traen con una sonrisa. Escribo un verso catártico y suspiro. Suspiro como quien lanza ese verso al viento para colgarlo en las nubes.
Sobre lo relacionado con qué revelo al mundo, es fácil. Siempre me muestro tal y como soy, un corazón desnudo. ¿Ocultar algo? No creo. No soy de los que mienten ni ocultan nada.
Sí, ya se que lo que he dicho poco puede parecer relacionado con Halloween, pero es que en Cuba, el Halloween es diferente, cotidiano. Los disfraces los llevan las personas en su vida diaria tristemente. La inquietud, es otra, sencillamente otra y otra que se multiplica a sí misma exponencialmente...
Pero volvamos a lo nuestro para no divagar ni sumirnos en la tristeza. Pidamos otra taza de café. Sonriamos. ¡Volvamos a sonreír y juguemos a los disfraces como juegan los niños!
Como pueden apreciar, está prácticamente vacía la cafetería, pero igual eso no impide que me siente a disfrutar de un exquisito café bien fuerte, y me disfrace con algún que otro elemento dispuesto para ello. Así, ustedes podrán imaginar que también están acá y contarme qué les parece.

That was very nice coffeeshop with the cute Halloween stuff. It would be so great sipping coffee in this beautiful place.
I love that decoration, very creative and in keeping with Halloween.
I understand your state of anxiety, but my sound advice is: DON'T stress about something that is beyond our control. We must continue on our path in the best way possible without overthinking things. Living in the moment and enjoying ourselves is part of the journey, always accompanied by a smile and without forgetting a cup of coffee, whatever your preference.
Too much worry ages us and the coffee gets cold.
