DISCOVERING A NEW COFFEE!

Hello dear friends who always share in this excellent community.

Here I am again to tell you about a new brand of coffee I just tried.

A few days ago, I went with my daughter to the supermarket to buy some things we needed for the house. While we were there, a very friendly girl approached us offering cups of black coffee, which she was promoting called “DAMASCUS”. My daughter and I stopped and had one each.

The girl told us that this coffee is Venezuelan, made in Acarigua/Portuguesa State, and that it is quite strong, so it goes a long way. It is prepared with more water than you would use to make any other coffee (the girl said). I liked it, so I bought a 200-gram package. My daughter preferred to buy her usual coffee (AMANECER) and didn't want to change it, especially since the price was no lower than the others.

When we got home after finishing our shopping, we set about making coffee, and we got a big surprise. The coffee wasn't like the girl at the supermarket had told us. We added more water than usual with the same amount of coffee, and the coffee was very weak. It was pure water and tasted of nothing (making it as the girl at the supermarket had instructed us)

But without losing our enthusiasm, we tried again, this time with less water and a little more coffee. We felt that it turned out much better and had a darker color. We went outside to watch the sunset while tasting the new Damasco coffee

I don't recommend it, as I prefer a milder coffee. I found this one a little strong, with a taste like freshly ground coffee (which I know many people love, but I don't).

After drinking that cup of black coffee, as it was getting dark, we had another cup but accompanied by some marbled cookies that my daughter made at home, and we found it much more pleasant because of the contrast.

I really don't regret buying it, as I'm one of those people who likes to try different brands of coffee, to innovate and be able to compare both the flavor and aroma, and of course the cost.

Whenever I go to someone's house and they offer me coffee, the first thing I do after trying it is ask them what kind of coffee we are drinking, and if I like it, I make a point of buying it as much as I can afford.

I love marbled cookies too especially when paired with coffee.
