The coffee and cacao came from a friend's farm. I got the coffee beans and cacao seeds when they were not even roasted yet. When I got them I thought about making different desserts, and I did that with cacao but with coffee, we just drank it.
The process was to let the seeds age, then roast, the coffee beans were already peeled so I just had to do that with the cacao, and finally grind them. The coffee is so satisfying to grind, the texture is dry, kind of like chalk, when you grind it not the powder. The sound is one of those that if you are the one making it is so funny and satisfying, but it's incredibly annoying if another person does it.
The other ingredient is eggnog. It has been on my fridge more than it should actually. I'm from Lara and Brought it from Merida. Two different states in Venezuela, eight hours apart. That travel was amazing, I have some posts about it, I bought the eggnog there in April so... it should be gone by now, but at home, we tend to wait to drink the good stuff, we are always saving it for a better moment, until it goes bad.
I tasted it, smelled it, and all good so I'm going to assume it is still safe to drink it. For me it was special because we never buy it, I've been to Merida only other two times, and this was the first time I actually got to buy what I wanted. And it tastes really good.
The tag fell down because of the humidity inside the fridge.
Ever since I got it I wanted to make a tasty drink and not just consume it as is. But I kept pushing and pushing it for a better moment, and Guess what? It is Christmas now and I don't know when else would be a good moment for eggnog.
The shot is easy but it looks so good. And you can take it one step further and mix it, freeze it, and turn it into ice cream. So good!

Melt 2 tbsp of cocoa powder with about 2 tbsp of coffee. Let it chill a little bit, and pour it into the glass. Use something to hold it tilt. |
Ten minutes later it will be solid enough to hold to the walls, now pour the eggnog. To decorate use some more cocoa powder. And that´s it. |
Pretty easy and I think it is actually a real shot, or pretty similar to one made with coffee liquor. |
Make sure the coffee is pretty strong, You can add sugar if needed but eggnog is sweet. Instead of cacao powder you can use a grated bar of chocolate, also swwet, because mine was made by hand and it's sweetened.
To melt the cacao with the coffee I used a ladle directly over the burner, it makes it easier to clean afterward and prevents the cacao from burning. I also used a teaspoon to pour the cacao, I saw it on videos when they make drinks, so you avoid dripping and everything looks so graceful.
It looks really cute inside the freezer. One of my tiny dishes to measure ingredients was the base to keep the glass tilt while solidifying it a little bit, just enough to keep that shape when straighten up.
You are supposed to drink it like a shot, but it's quite a lot, and I want to taste it, so even though I made a shot I ended up using a spoon to eat it 😅 I don't know about you but I can only have shots when I already had some drinks before.
Look at this. How something so simple can be so cute and so delicious?
I've never eaten something in a normal way. I deconstruct the sandwiches and eat the hot dogs from both sides to end in the middle so... Here I destroyed my beautiful work and got to taste it.
After months of waiting and the whole process of making two out of the three ingredients, I tasted this delicate and sweet drink. Too dangerous also, because just while tasting it, and drinking the first shot, I got a bit dizzy.
It was nice to share this with you now that the years is almost over. Happy holidays!

That’s so good I feel like I really want one now.
Hello friend, that looks very rich and provocative, plus each of the ingredients has a great story, but the important thing is that at last everything is ready and it was the perfect time to do it, I really liked the presentation you have, I have to try this and see that combination of flavors. Thanks for sharing it with us, greetings.
Thank you! It is so good, I hope you try it. It's easy but elegant, and you can feel the coffee more than you could expect with the combination of cacao.
It is a spectacular combination and the presentation is beautiful. I love the pictures.
😁 thanks! Now we have to make a bucket of it hahahaha
I am salivating for this 😋
It looks like a great dessert to have for an afternoon meet-up with friends:)
Oh yeah, and making several of them will take pretty much the same effort because there is no need of shaking or mixing exact amounts like in other drinks. Plus is really tasty for those that are not much of a drinker haha.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi there, @tsunsica. 😃 Christmas is the best moment to consume this delicious drink. I love the mix of cocoa, coffee and eggnog. My mouth waters from imagining the taste. 🤣
It's a ✨spicy✨ dessert hahaha for when you say "I want something sweet, and relaxing" there you go 🤣
Very Nice enjoy 😊
Wonderfully artistic looking. Bet it tastes like the “bomb”
It does, and for me, it tastes even better because of all the effort I put into each ingredient. And because it looks so cool, I feel elegant while drinking it haha
Se ve delicioso, excelentes ángulos fotográficos y es sencillo de hacer ❤️
