Brazil has good coffee, and so far I have really only enjoyed the "kurig-type" of coffee that I never drink in the US. Its great here though, nothing to complain about.
But I wanted to visit a real coffee shop in Rio, so I hit up the local one in Grajau near @xvlad's house. A little place called Thomes.
I didn't know how to order anything in Portuguese but the women there were very kind to me.
It was served with a wafer, a tiny spoon, and a tiny little glass of sparkling water that is supposed to be to cleanse your pallete before each sip of the sacred bean juice. My hands were almost too big to pic these items up, I was alice in wonderland.
I also ordered this:
But it was amazing.
YUM... but really not anything TOO special about it. tastes like a familiar expresso. I'm not sure what the muito authentic brazilian coffee is but maybe there isn't one.
Made by a real expresso machine!
I wanted another piece of pie but we had to keep moving because we had a bunch of groceries from next door we had to get home, even though it was nice and air conditioned inside.
That espresso looks so smooth and creamy though. And that pie, my, I feel like they are a perfect pair to eat together \(◎o◎)/
It's a delightful combination. I'm sure the pie complements the coffee perfectly. Enjoy!
The coffee is dark and strong just the way I like it and the cake looks delicious🥰, I would order more 😁
An expresso with a piece of pie sounds perfect to me. I usually get a blueberry cheesecake, but getting a pie is a must-try!
"Thome Cafe" = "THE HOMiE CAFE" 😄☕️
I've found that a good espresso is less about how it tastes and more about how it makes you feel; if it gives you that good caffeine buzz without a coffee crash then you got the best thing. This post is cool!!
Dude 💯 foodie post; that pie looks dope!
Hey there!
Who doesn't love Brazilian coffee, eh?
This looks amazing, and the dessert is so tempting. Brazilians are known for their hospitality, so I'm not surprised that the ladies were helpful.
It's great to see you here for this little snippet of coffee in Brazil:)))
The cake looks tasty, as for espresso I'm from Italy so it can't beat it 🤣
Look very good your coffee
Hey there!
Thanks for stopping by:)
