It’s a relief to hear the footpath was well-worn and mud-free! There is nothing worse than a rainy walk that turns into a slippery mess. It sounds like you caught the bluebells just in time; even if they are beginning to wilt, they still provide such a lovely splash of color against the damp greenery.
