First up though is a #beautifulsunday (hosted by @ace108) photo with a #funkyedit (hosted by @krazypoet) with Saturation to the Max.
So this weekend was walk in the woods weekend with my boy and his friend, Judy Woods to be precise - you will read the story behind the name later.
It is a large area of woodland with a stream through the middle, and is fully open to the public to walk through.
There are set footpaths you can follow, but if you really wish you can walk anywhere - the boundries of the woodland are fenced so you can't accidentally walk on farmland.
If you go down to the woods today...
Your going to get chased with a stick
The look of someone pleased with their new stick friend
There are plenty of steep slopes to go up and down
And you do get the odd open area with ferns
There are some seriously impressive trees
And boggy parts too, the boys found this red clay mud very interesting - they also discovered the area was so soft 3ft of stick submerged into it!
While you mostly follow the stream through the woods, every so often you do need to cross it.
A few trees has fallen due to subsidance of the slope down to the stream, long ago they would have been on solid ground but as the soil washed away they reached the slope itself.
The boys were impressed by the size of this Bee
The stream manages to spread out in places, while being tiny and narrow in others

We actually walked from the very top of the woods, right to the bottom (the map here is the red dot) And then we walked up the road to a shop for drinks and snacks - before heading back into the woods further up to walk back to the top a different way.

We walked from Woodside at the top, through the woods following the stream, right to the yellow roadworks sign where we got drinks - and then walked back up the right side of the woods away from the stream all the way back to woodside. To the right below Moor Top is the lake we went to last weekend.

Being in lockdown now, I truly enjoyed every photos here. I miss outside. I miss nature. I miss being normal again. Thank you for sharing such an adventure. =)
Wow, lot of big tree photos are nicely captured of your shot.
That looks like a fantastic place to hike around. I am always amazed how the fauna is absolutely identical to what it is here in Michigan. States not far away from us look more different!
