It's Sunday, so time for a post for #beautifulsunday by @ace108 and #sublimesunday by @c0ff33a.
Driving through the Chatsworth Estate, owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, we had to stop to let the resident deer, run across the road. Here they come!
On the Estate there are fallow deer, red deer, sheep, and cattle. You also have to stop for the sheep crossing the road. Don't know why because there's acres of grass, but as they say, grass is always greener on the other side.
You see the deer most of the time you drive through the park, but they're mostly higher up. There's nowhere to quickly park, so it was nice to see them a little closer up.
At one point, two pheasants also crossed the road. I think they took full advantage of the deer stopping the traffic.
The last deer bringing up the rear really took its time. There's always one!
So nice! They cross the road in an orderly way! Those two birds!
Lovely autumn day.
They are like sheep, when one goes they all go. Except the one at the back that was a bit reluctant. 🙃
It's wonderful to see that the deer are able to roam freely on the Chatsworth Estate. It's great that the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire are doing their part to protect wildlife and their habitats.
Unfortunately, they sell venison and pheasant in the estate shop. Think it goes under the name of 'sustainable wildlife management'.
