Welcome to Bird Life!

in SublimeSunday5 months ago

Seeing as it's nearly Christmas, I thought it was appropriate to have a few robin photos. Robins are synonymous with Christmas as back in the Victorian days, the postmen were called “robins” because of their red coloured uniforms. I will say 'postmen' as they probably didn't have 'postwomen' back then. So the lovely robin was put on Christmas cards representing the people who delivered the cards. SourceOur posties still wear red shirts today.

Robins are pretty little birds, and I will never tire of taking their photographs. There's not that many birds who will sit long enough but robins don't seem to mind.

The Canada geese are still sticking around. I really thought they'd have moved on by now to somewhere bigger.

This one has been snacking on the grass as it's still got a dirty beak. Has anyone got a serviette?

The solitary tufted duck kept getting chased off by other birds as soon as a passerby came with food. Once they've gone, birdlife calms down again.

This post is for #sublimesunday inspired by @c0ff33a and #beautifulsunday initiated by @ace108.

I wish we had robbins here so I could take their photos! They are good at sitting around!

They're so pretty as well.

Love the colour on the robin. To bad we don't have them here.
